That one reminded me of one of those club tournament matches we called the "duel at dawn" where one of the teams comes out still in their jammies after missing the wakeup call.
Now if club trends continue, it wouldn't surprise me if Illinois unexpectedly takes down Marquette in the night match.

Great job by Illinois to extend the match, then an excellent job by Illinois State to grab the match with a huge run in the middle of S5, featuring some nice OOS play.

Would love a scouting report on Marquette from you Big East aficionados! Yadhira Anchante is the best setter that no one knows about. Hamilton-Reitsma is a good Oh duo, but both can be error prone Murray has really exploded in the middle this year. Hattie Bray is a freshman that is showing she fits in. They’re a strong serving team (maybe not as strong as Illinois though). Ella Foti is their right side and has done really well, imo. She’s a converted setter. Illinois’ block and passing has to be on if they want to win… or serve really really well. Nunge/Terry/Barnes are going to be under a lot of pressure |

Would love a scouting report on Marquette from you Big East aficionados! I haven't gotten to watch much of Marquette this season... thanks to Flo. but the games I have been able to catch, they are scrappy and its a completely new squad with transfers making an impact. Anchante is really impressive and underrated in my opinion, she can turn any bad pass into something her hitters can take a swing at. and honestly they are rolling with their only loss being to wisconsin.... they also beat kentucky in lexington on opening night. Hamilton (ND transfer) is making a big impact on the left pin. |
