Minnesota started with OHs that are both #1 in their respective classes - Landfair and Wucherer.. and still lost.

I got a lot of "choose to compete" energy from this thread. well minnesota is just canada south Dude, the preferred nomenclature is “East Dakota,” please. Besides, the Canadians aren’t the issue here.

she's in the transfer portal "i ain't dealin with this for four years" Why would she bother with the portal when we all know she's gonna end up in Wisconsin? 🙃 These comments upset me because we need her so badly… energy, passing, everything! Please Choboy, girl, ignore these awful matches and keep dreaming in maroon and gold!!

I wish BTN would get their facts right. Purdue knocked off a top 10 Minnesota in Holloway back in 2017. They beat Minnesota and Wisconsin in back-to-back nights. (I was there and it was electric.) Me too 😳 a fabulous weekend of volleyball 🏐 Megan Renner and Emma Ellis were high juniors sitting in row in front of me 😁 two of my favorite Boilermakers 🚂 Purdue forum check in, I was there too! Oh man I remember that weekend, there were a few people who ducked out early for the basketball season opener. It seems like the rest of the crowd got louder to make up for it.

Purdue you now have a starting setter battle: because#4 was outstanding!! Maybe they should run a 6-2 like WI and NE. I kid. Wisc. and Nebraska both have coaches who over promised transfers and recruits and now have to run a 6-2 and convince everyone on the roster this is the best thing for us!!! Purdue looked good!! Hope this was there new average and not just a 1 off performance . We all return to the mean !

I don't know about Nebraska, but I can guarantee 100% that Wisconsin would be in a 5-1 this year if we had still had Hilley at setter.

Well you see thats the point coaches are supposed to recruit a replacement for their graduating quarterbacks. And their back ups: if you really think they are running 6-2’s because of setters. KS is trying to figure out how to keep demps, shrek(sp), robinson, and all his attackers from wanting to transfer because they aren't playing and he promised all of them a job to get them there! Fear the portal!

Well, I would add that Nebraska started in a 5-1 this season and I think that the Huskers would still be in it, if Orr had played well enough to hold onto the “keys”, as Cook originally described it.

Fear the portal! If there was any concern about losing someone to the portal, it was losing Izzy, had been one of the best servers in the conference, but isn’t this year (3rd on the team in aces per set, behind a European Libero who had never served before last month and MJ). Jardine transferred and we brought in a freshman that would likely be starting on a LOT of other teams. We’ve got some really good recruits coming in the next couple years, and if someone can’t stand the competition now or in the future… don’t let the door hit ya on the way out.

Fear the portal! Yes, perhaps. I suppose that you could say that for any team with an abundance of talent. Wisconsin is certainly one. But what/how does it matter if they go NC back-to-back? This too…the players you mentioned - save for Smrek who is having a slow start - are putting up some great production right now. So while it would be naive to think that Wisconsin is immune to it, I just don’t see it happening to this bunch in any significant way. I’ll reserve judgment until it does.

Completely agree with your last sentence! But there is a little truth in my hypothesis: coaches do consider their recruiting promises when making their line-ups !!
