Game day bump! This has dropped to page 5.
I have to say, the closure of the pizza place in Union South has really messed up my pre-match routine.

When was the last time Northwestern was receiving votes, let alone ranked?

I think Wisconsin will win, but it's gonna be a heck of a lot closer than Badger fans will be comfortable with. NW can be legit... keyword can A bit up & down, but that's OK. Thrilled to think it'll even be competitive tbh!

When was the last time Northwestern was receiving votes, let alone ranked? Last ranking was Week 12 of the 2010 season, which also coincides with the last year Northwestern made the NCAA Tournament. EDIT: Nope, I missed the one week Northwestern was ranked in 2014. Week 6, #24.

Didn’t they receive votes a few years ago when they beat Illinois at the end of the season, but Illinois still make it into the tournament?

They'll be a competitive team consistently this year.

Didn’t they receive votes a few years ago when they beat Illinois at the end of the season, but Illinois still make it into the tournament? Doesn't look like it. It's so hard to source RVs when they're not archived in media guides, but here's the magic of Volleytalk combing: 12/2/19 poll1 Baylor (43) 1575 25-1 1 2 Pittsburgh (11) 1488 29-1 2 3 Stanford (10) 1475 24-4 3 4 Texas 1457 21-3 4 5 Wisconsin 1337 22-6 5 6 Nebraska 1274 25-4 6 7 Minnesota 1222 23-5 8 8 Penn State 1167 24-5 7 9 Washington 974 24-6 9 10 Colorado State 952 29-1 11 11 Kentucky 892 23-6 14 12 Florida 859 25-4 15 13 BYU 818 25-4 13 14 Purdue 703 22-7 16 15 Creighton 686 24-5 10 16 Marquette 668 27-5 12 17 Utah 617 22-9 17 18 Hawai'i 541 24-3 18 19 Western Kentucky 509 31-1 19 20 San Diego 439 24-5 20 21 Rice 312 26-3 21 22 Michigan 198 20-10 22 23 Washington State 183 23-9 25 24 UCLA 143 18-11 23 25 Texas A&M 105 21-7 NR Others receiving votes and listed on two or more ballots: Stephen F. The OP shows Northwestern’s record as 5-3. They are actually 11-1, only losing a 4-setter to Washington.
I agree that if Wisconsin is looking ahead to Sunday, it could be a long night tonight. Hoping for a dominant performance from the Badgers.
