Smrek and Franklin combined for 6k-10E-32TA. -0.125 The rest of the badgers. 35k-4E-63TA. 0.492 The story of the match is Smrek and Franklin laid some eggs, and the Badgers still swept. Catz hit 0.178

They need to put more TV monitors in the East Concourse. The line for Dippin’ Dots is almost halfway to Bucky’s Locker Room. Forget monitor, set up a second or third Dots cart.

Why did Smrek play so little after the first set?

Why did Smrek play so little after the first set? She just looked off in that 1st set. I don’t think she looked great in the 3rd when she came back in either.

Why did Smrek play so little after the first set? Hitting errors. Especially from the right pin. Same thing that has got her pulled in some previous matches.

what's going on with Smrek? she was so dominant in the final 4, and all of a sudden she appears average. sorry if there's an obvious answer (injury?). i don't get to watch that often. other teams covered Rettke leaving Smrek wide open. She's playing about the same as she did at the beginning of last season.

The winning sign today in my opinion was "soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur".

I thought Demps did well. Was almost expecting Wrobel to come in for Franklin at one point, but I think the issue there is passing.

They need to put some small monitors in under the upper deck for those of us way in the back. They don’t need to be huge, just enough to be able to see stats and replays. We have to duck down to see the scoreboard! I’d be fine with them completely getting rid of dipping dots though. It’s all my kids want when they get to go to matches!

Here I was all ready to watch GG jump into Ashburn's arms after her aces, and she had a terrible night serving instead.

Especially back in the day when the Badgers didn't close the block against the Illini, the quite formidable left side Van Meter (sp?) crushed one in bounds for a kill, which then bounced off the floor on one bounce into a kid walking behind the end line's Dippin Dots, sending them flying everywhere in an impressive array, leading to a sweeping of the floor at the end of the court and past!

Northwestern match, points by server by set: Izzy on the court: 10-12, 11-8, 14-14; total 35-34 MJ on the court: 15-6, 14-11, 11-8; total 40-25 ----------- Points scored during the serve of server: Izzy: 6 points on 7 trips to the line Orzol: 2 points on 7 trips GG: 2 points on 7 trips MJ: 10 points on 6 trips Franklin: 7 points on 7 trips Liz G: 1 point on 4 trips CC: 6 points on only 2 trips ----------- Sideout percents by server for the year (taking out High Point, Campbell, Rhode Island; lower number the better) Izzy: 0.557 Orzol: 0. 679 GG: 0.547 MJ: 0.485 Franklin: 0.644 Liz G: 0.750 CC: 0.538 The numbers sure do seem to back up what I saw, that MJ was having a much better match than Izzy tonight. The serving certainly helped her out a lot too. Any idea why Liz was serving for CC early on, instead of serving for Franklin? Seemed like CC was serving fine, getting some nice scoring runs.
