Hope I did that right; I copied you guys's format... also, if you are interested in other USD fans's comments, our fan board is the same ProBoards format, so I cut and pasted the match thread there, too: GoYotes.net LINK

Looks like MasseyRatings.com is predicting a Coyote win 3-2. Not that I put much weight in that particular site. It's just the only one I know of, and is pretty user-friendly.
(Let me know if there are any other good predictive sites for Volleyball.)

Omaha has a chance in this one. Like, one in Vermillion.

I just added a major stats comparison to the first post... honestly, both teams are solid stats-wise, even given the fact that they just played the top-two most difficult non-con schedules in the conference. Both are top-50 blocking teams. Both have been average in digs numbers, but Omaha does not allow many aces (1.00 per set), so we can assume their serve-receive game is excellent. The Yotes are top-50 in hitting %, and also only allow .191 from opponents. Slight stats edge to the Yotes, but the Mavs have played a slightly tougher schedule, so.... should be a good one for fans? Speaking of fans, I'll expect a big turnout for a weeknight match. The SCSC holds 6K in a steep-bowl style basketball arena with a relatively lower ceiling (still NCAA regulation). Even an average-sized volleyball crowd (have been averaging around 1K for the last few years) can make that place loud. We recently broke our program all-time match attendance record vs Louisville (2,774), so you can guess there were probably a lot of first-timers in there. I'm going to guess we get around 1,600 for Omaha, and 2,000 for Denver (that one's on Saturday right after the football game in the adjoining Dakota Dome). Louisville @ South Dakota 9/26/22

Omaha has struggled with 5-set matches; I’ll predict 3-2 Yotes.

Some notes on individual Mavs players (copied from the omavs.com pregame article): #4 McKenna Ruch6'-2" Junior Middle Blocker• McKenna Ruch is coming off her best week of the season so far, racking up 37 kills, a .389 attack percentage, and 20 total blocks in the Classic. She has now eclipsed 100 kills and slots in at third in the league with a .350 attack percentage. She also remains atop the leader boards in blocks with a career-high 63. #11 Shayla McCormick 5'-11" Sophomore Outside Hitter• Shayla McCormick led all Mavericks and was second in the tournament in kills with 38, while also recording the second most digs on the team at 36 and was tied for the second most blocks with 11. With 155 kills on the season, McCormick ranks fourth in the Summit League, as well as third in kills per set (3.88). She also makes the top 10 in digs with 123. #15 Sami Clarkson5'-11" Senior Setter•Sami Clarkson recorded 118 assists in Kansas, good for second in the tournament. Along with this she produced four service aces and 11 blocks. She now has 430 assists in 2022, placing her third in the league, while her 10.75 assists per set are still the most of any Summit League player. #3 Kali Jurgensmeier6'-1" Freshman Outside Hitter• Kali Jurgensmeier continued to excel in her rookie season, adding another 22 kills, three aces, and four blocks over the weekend. Match Day! Yes, it's odd that the two teams's "hand signs" are similar. The "nose" on the Coyote sign is extended ... ...and the nose on the Mavs sign is blunted, basically just like the Longhorns sign...

Looks like outcome voting is now a perfect mirrored split, with every option voted on at least once.... crazy, man. (don't worry, this annoying flurry of posts by me will be followed by radio silence, as I'm going to the match) (plus, I'm not very good at real-time observations and evaluation - I'll leave that to you folks and the play-by-play guy)

I hope this one goes long, kids go down around 7:30/8:00. Want to catch the end of this one. I hope Omaha wins tonight and that they win the Summit. Also, kiyoat, I've had a long day and I hate the mf'n Eagles. Big Lebowski memes always welcome!
