i have a serious question to ask...what is the ncaa's stance on doubles? are they calling them less this season, or are they considering balls that spin just sets that spin? i have 11-year-olds on my club team who put less spin on a ball when they set. i’m sorry but i am not on the kennedi orr bandwagon. give me anni and/or nicklin all day every day

Personally I've seen it called more this year, but it certainly isn't called all the time. A good way to get a conversation going for someone who wants to start a thread is to post you really like the way the officials are calling doubles and lifts/throws this year. People will be jumping out of the woodwork to tell you why you're wrong. I'd be among them.

Guys, gals, non-binary pals, good night.

And yes that is now a recognized verb for sidelining an elite setter that doesn't pan out.

She has so far to go, but there's some good things here and there. I don't think it's a secret there's some mental aspect..

seems like a great deal of the taller highly touted 6’0> ish setters are flopping, from shook, to orr, shaffmaster too, what’s in the water? (I think Orr just needs time though)

Like THE TOPIC on my mind this week. Rousseau at Northwestern (6'3) would also be replaced by most other setters in the conf. It's also their weakness. Something about the taller setters not being able to get under balls well enough to deliver it cleanly. And, like Shaff, a lot of them are just too slow.

(I think Orr just needs time though) I wonder if they get away with less elite hands (in terms of placement and smootheness/non-doubling) in high school and club compared to shorter setters, who may have to work harder to get starting time. Although this doesn’t explain Orr’s high level of international success with the junior USA team

Wow. I have watched SO much vball and have legit never seen the 8-sec violation. Crazy thing is that it took 12.2 seconds before an 8-second would would be called!
