Dildine says badgers passed a 2.6.
And yet they only hit 0.234. Can't blame the passing tonight.

Dildine says we passed 2.6 for the match. Can’t say I’d disagree too much with that.

It’s important to be able to win in 5. I will take this win.
Excellent game, Illini. Impressive.

Barnes unintentionally winging the ball into the line judge sums up this natch pretty well. In Post game Gregorski referred to her as Little Barnes. (and that they weren't targeting her)

Floor defense looked the best it has all season - especially Ashburn imo.
When they set the ball close - around 3 feet away - the setters are simply a lot better. They force-fed the mids early with those perfect passes/first balls, and once Illinois adjusted they were getting one-on-ones on the outside and with our pins those are going to be kills most of the time.
As messy as it was, I think those two areas showed major progress today.

Dildine says badgers passed a 2.6. And yet they only hit 0.234. Can't blame the passing tonight. Badgers aren't really terminating well and teams are getting big blocking numbers against this team. I'm a believer in terms of passing. But the setting is not providing the consistent edge that the big arms need and expect. It was interesting to see Izzy rotate to the front row today. Foretelling, or nothing to see here?

The energy level of everyone in the Field House right now is at "amicable spring scrimmage" level The old bitties that sit by me were chattering as usual. But not really "cheering". As for setting, Hamill struggles setting lefts and both struggle setting middles. The sets are too slow and Hart is already on her way down. The lefts are hitting behind them.

I have yet to read through the thread, so apologies if these have been properly dealt with already, but...
- My second row courtside seat was at the exact right angle to see the Robinson challenged bump in the 4th set, and with 100% no-doubt-about-it I can tell you that it did not touch the antenna, it was inside the antenna, not over it, and the only thing that made the net move was Robinson's right leg bumping into the net stand after the ball was gone. It absolutely should have been the Badgers' point.
_ Reina Terry serving was killing Wisconsin all day. But at the start of the 5th set, Wisconsin started in rotation 6 instead of rotation 1, and however many sideouts later, when Terry got to the line, that change meant she was serving to Izzy and Robinson instead of MJ and Demps. And the Badgers sided out on Terry's first serve.

On. 5 point scale, maybe. I actually thought the setting was the worst part. Yeah, that set to no one from Ashburn is going to be stuck in my mind for a while. Izzy clearly had the better setting match against PSU, but neither one seems to be very good today. IU is a pretty good blocking team, so maybe give them a bit of credit for that too.
