On. 5 point scale, maybe. No matter how you dice it Rainbow, I think 2.6 is impressive for NCAA D1. It actually gives me more hope for the Badger fortunes, going forward. 2.6 is a fantastic number, but rainbow is saying that number is not believable

they might be grading on a four point scale instead of the three point scale
just take it as "the passing was good today"

I don't know if I believe it either, but the passing was way better than against Minnesota. And they didn't target GG that much, though she passed well when they did.. Instead, they went after Franklin.

And they didn't target GG that much, though she passed well when they did.. Instead, they went after Franklin. Somewhere this season, I heard or read either Dildine or Sheffield say something to the effect (is that vague enough?) that they score passing on a sort sliding scale to account for the 'quality' of the serve; that putting up what somebody else would score a "two" on a weak serve counts less than serving the same "two" result on a difficult-to-handle serve. That is, handling the tough serve with a 'two" pass gets you more than just a "two" in their ranking. So, FWIW.

Franklin was much better on serve receive than she has been.

I wonder if VolleyMetrics can provide some additional perspective on the day's passing numbers.

I must have missed it, are they pronouncing Julia's last name differently? “They” are the local radio announcers, who are pronouncing it correctly. I’m rewatching the match right now, and now I understand why there is a question. You’re not used to hearing it correctly.

Get some ice for the Illini Between the 4th and 5th sets, Terry was getting some therapy on her right shoulder; massage, stretching, etc from a trainer. Having taken three-hundred plus swings or whatever the number was, totally understandable.

Poor Illini, go 5 sets against 2 of the best teams in the Conference and drop both They're going to beat someone, and I'm really glad the boilers don't play them again! We say that every year for the past three.. IL needs some passing.

Dildine said the Badgers passed 2.6 today. Uhhm, ok. WI pass grading is not real pass grading...clearly. Last couple sets were good passing, but they were around 1.8-2 first couple.

CC: 8 kills hitting .438, 7 blocks, 3 digs, 1 assist.
GG: 11 assists! And 23 digs
4 players with double doubles (Orzol, Izzy, MJ, GG)
IL: 124 combined swings from Terry and Mosher (after having 105 vs Purdue)
Anyone have volleymetrics passing for this one ?
