Is there a bigger Jekyll/Hyde player in the NCAA? I mean that seriously. She's the solo player equivalent of Minnesota volleyball to me. The bigger crazy thing to me is HOW DAMN GOOD she was as a freshman. She was literally being lauded to the point of Hudson and Stucky... deservedly! And then she's just struggled so bad since then. When you say she's struggled...it's not every match. That would almost make it more understandable to me. I've watched so many Ohio State matches this year. There are so many times I don't quite understand how this team is as good as it is. I mean, I see it, so I know they are, but the whole seems so much greater than the sum of its parts. |

Oldenburg seems like such a good art hire. Gives the impression of a positive big sister demeanor, such great youthful energy and perspective. Night and day from Carlston, who just oozed mediocre patriarchy. I love JFo. I don't know how anyone can't. She has my favorite sideline vibe of any volleyball coach in the country. So many dour white men, and frankly a lot of the women take on that demeanor, too. It's not like she's on the sideline doing cartwheels or anything. She manages to convey competence without looking like she just drank a bottle of vinegar. |

And i think that's why they're up and down -- bc getting the ball to RR depends on passing. |

Feels to me like this first set is gonna be close, OSU steamrolls in S2, and then we have a close S3... but it's still an OSU sweep to me. I think OSU just needs time to get used to the crowd and they'll be fine. OSU seems to be the more consistent team. 2/2 *side eye emoji* |
