I understand. The Fullerton loss was puzzling but it's basically a new team for the beach, they'll get better. I do not know if they will get better - they've been on a treadmill since the Boise game. It's also much of a new team for Hawaii, yet they DO get better. Bobyn demands results and just kicks butt and gets results year after year. they don't wilt late in sets when Big West matches are on the line. It will be hard for them to recover from 1-3 to potentially win the league, but they are talented and will win a lot of matches, I think. Also, yay, Wisconsin overcame Good Kash last night, but it is clear, if anyone doubted it, that she is streaky, but her good is mostly unstoppable for anyone! Wisconsin overcame it in other rotations, Stanford did not. She did a lot for The Beach in her career there, and I wish her the best in her grad transfer career, other than versus Wisconsin in State College!

Despite some iffy setting, Kate played some great back row defense per usual! And Tayli was doing some nice things. I’m curious to see the Akana and Ham battle for the right side.

Stats-wise, Wags was the best player on the court tonight. I said last season, I felt like it was a confidence issue with her but now she is playing very well, probably tired of all of you getting on her case. Wags with confidence is good for the Bows. She's hitting over .300 in conference. That leftside is looking pretty good for the Bows. Like I mentioned earlier, ever since Robyn told Wags, that she wanted her to concentrate on her backrow play, and anything she gives the Wahine on the offensive side is just frosting on the cake. Wags has become a different player offensively. She is just playing loose, not trying to overthink things offensively. I def agree with you, wahinefan. What Robyn told her seems to have not only taken pressure off of her but also it has steered her focus in a different and more positive direction. Robyn has empowered her to affect the game and her team in a way that is feasible for her.

LBSU needs to watch out, they could be out of it before the halfway point is reached. Next up for LBSU is UCSB, on Friday. If they lose that match their record will be 1-4, and totally out of any BWC Title contention.

Ham has to pass in the back row, but I am not sure on that in the front row. Hawai'i, like all good programs, is about winning! No one is owed anything. RAM will go with the best lineup!

Yes, instead of Wags trying to be the 'go to' player offensively, she now is concentrating on being the 'go to' player defensively. What has also helped is that Caylen has taken over being that 'go to' offensive player. So Wags, in her mind, can play free, being the 2nd fiddle offensively. which is what she is accustomed to, her Freshman and Sophmore years, being the 2nd fiddle to BVS.

How did Ham do overall as a 6 ro?

The Beach can be the Spoiler Team role this year. They have enough talent, that if a team does not take them seriously, that team will find themselves on the losing end to The Beach.

Yup I agree with you Bucky. It was literally a set and a half and one has to assume Long Beach was not ready for Ham and whatever she brought. But if she can bring some stability while terminating and blocking then I’m for it.

How did Ham do overall as a 6 ro? Well she equaled Akana’s kill production in like a fraction of the front row time, so there’s that.

Honestly, I have now watched matches of UCSB, The Beach, and Cal Poly, plus Hawai'i of course, and all 4 are capable, plus Fullerton beat The Beach!

Would love for Robyn to start using Evans, if Westerberg is being unproductive in the Middle, especially offensively. Cause if Westerberg is not productive Offensive, she is almost nonexistent. At least Evans, maybe able to put up a better block, not a strong suit of Westerberg's.
