Cal Poly beat Long Beach, so CP is a threat. UCSB beat Cal Poly, so they are huge threats.
I’m worried about these two.

How did Ham do overall as a 6 ro? Well she equaled Akana’s kill production in like a fraction of the front row time, so there’s that. Our Brae is not the ticket right now lol

I am thinking Brae was not 100% tonight. Thinking she could have a slight cold. Went as far as she could. She started out strong, but as the match went on, she started fading fast. The only player on the bench to dawn a jacket, and kept rubbing her nose.

Ham for Akana seemed more about getting some blocking going on the right (Akana had 0 blocks), and presenting a different look to give Beach something they'd have to adjust to, get them out of their rhythm and take back momentum. LBSU's OH2 (Jordan - 14 kills) was having a best of season type of night against the block of Akana and Lang. Putting in Byrd for Lang in the 4th was in the same vein, plus Lang looked gassed and needed a break to gather herself.

Despite some iffy setting, Kate played some great back row defense per usual! And Tayli was doing some nice things. I’m curious to see the Akana and Ham battle for the right side. I'd like to see Brae continue to get a shot and then Kendra plays all around if Brae is hitting zero or negative.

LBSU needs to watch out, they could be out of it before the halfway point is reached. Next up for LBSU is UCSB, on Friday. If they lose that match their record will be 1-4, and totally out of any BWC Title contention. Need to remember!

Ham has to pass in the back row, but I am not sure on that in the front row. Hawai'i, like all good programs, is about winning! No one is owed anything. RAM will go with the best lineup! And Brae isn't even hitting a hundred so sometimes the best lineup doesn't include her. For tonight, Ham did very well. Only played front row in the fourth set and the end of the third, still got 4 kills and 2 blocks on .429 hitting.

Lang needed to rest, Mylana came in to split the setting and block.

But honestly, Robyn stays with Brae for reason and I suspect it’s the same reason I have! 😇

Unless they play Wisconsin, for me! They are my second favorite team! I booked tickets to see my folks in Florida in December 2019, in the only time I could make it work for work, when it looked like Wisconsin regional hosting was a pipe dream! Obviously, if I had not been 1,200 miles away, I would have been there rooting vocally for the Wahine in the semis!

I think Gulctekin has as lot of upside, though!
