Boilers, take heart. Badger fans have witnessed many set 1 butt whoopings only to lose the next three and not closely. I guess this takes the Baylor 2018 (?) one back.
I pondered traveling to this match. I might have had a stroke. Fortunately there is that SRO at the far end where I could have paced.

If each team plays up to the current capabilities, I like the Badgers chances. Bring the block so they have something to think/worry about, take care of business on serve/ receive and cash in on the "easy" opportunities. I thought badger fans were too pessimistic on this match. I didn't watch, but based on the box score, they won despite a lot of serving transgressions. They are winning, and can still play better, so definitely looking forward to the rest of conference season.

Is this the first match Hudson hitting below .100? Welcome to the B1G! Yes. I fully appreciate how good Hudson has looked, and she may well turn out to be a cut about these others; but it's not like the first quality left taking a ton of swings that Wisconsin has seen. Last weekend, for example, they went up against Temi Thomas-Ailara and Reina Terry. You see a quality left side hitter blasting away at you pretty much every week, every match. Welcome to the B1G indeed.

Super proud of the gang keeping their wits about them tonight. Especially proud of Orzoł & Güçtekin coming in clutch. And I believe we contained Hudson better than any other B1G team so far. Well done.
Now I can go back to cheering for the Boilers, too.

Super proud of the gang keeping their wits about them tonight. Especially proud of Orzoł & Güçtekin coming in clutch. And I believe we contained Hudson better than any other B1G team so far. Well done. Now I can go back to cheering for the Boilers, too. Two things that really impressed me about Orzol tonight. One was how many of her kills were off the Purdue defenders. She was seeing the block so well and using it to her advantage. She’s so dangerous when she’s doing that. The other thing was her body language. Very assertive. It was clear she wanted the ball. Just a refuse to lose intensity about her. That kind of stuff is contagious. In particular in the 4th set Wisconsin went on a small run with her at the service line. She was almost chomping at the bit to get the ball from the ref so she could serve again. I think the Wisconsin coaches made a minor mistake by having her switch sides for her serve, when they should have just left her where she was where she had a rthythm going. She ended up with a service error. But it was her attitude that really screamed at me through the TV. It was impressive.

Catching up now that I'm home from the UW women's hockey game; it absolutely sounds like they are playing in a swimming pool.

Purdue will also split the upcoming week, first heading to state rival, Indiana, on Friday night (7PM EDT) before coming back to Holloway to host Maryland on Sunday (10.16) for a matinee.
the Boilers B1G schedule is very back heavy but there will be a few challenges before that
v. (3) Nebraska (10.19 8PM EDT on BTN) @ (11) Minnesota (10.22 8PM EDT) @ (RV) Northwestern (10.28 TBD on BTN) v. Indiana (10.30 1PM EDT) @ Michigan State (11.04 TBD on BTN)

Purdue seemed to be in full control just stomping out Wisconsin then Wisconsin seemingly turned the tables. They need more production from others when Hudson struggled there was no one else to go to. They should use next week as a prep to iron out the kinks before heading into the following to take on B1G leader Nebraska and then back to Minnesota their schedule will be tough down the stretch. Review the film of this match see what they did right in the first serving tough hitting smart and passing well. I’m not sure if Purdue can win the B1G cause as others have mentioned the back half of the conference season will definitely be more challenging than the first.

WOW! Tuned in at 11-5 in the 1st, and proceeded to flip back to the Badger FB game not long after that. Didn’t want to watch yet another loss to Purdue. Turned VB back on in time to see them down 5 in the 2nd set, but from there it was spotty getting enough reception to stream. Managed to catch the audio at the end of the 4th though. WHAT. A. WIN! I did not see this coming, though I did predict it would go 4 sets.
Grace needs a full time contract calling VB. Please make it happen, BTN, she’s a rising star!
