Ironically, it is even possible to score a touchdown without the ball ever actually being in the endzone at all. For instance, a receiver reaches to catch a ball that is thrown along the sideline, but keeps both feet in the endzone when making the catch, before stepping out, with the ball never actually entering the endzone itself. I'm pretty sure that would still count at a TD. I guess that's theoretically possible, but the quarterback would have to sidearm the ball while being over the sideline without having touched out-of-bounds, such that the trajectory of the ball stayed outside the sideline and didn't cross over the pylon at the corner of the end zone (and I'm not even sure that would be a touchdown). If the ball were to cross over the pylon, it would be considered 'in the endzone'. Say a ball carrier has the ball in his hand and is extending it out as he crosses over the goal line: the ball must travel inside or over the pylon for it to be a touchdown; if it goes around the pylon to the out-of-bounds side, even though the runner's body enters the endzone - maybe even falls to the ground in the endzone - if the ball was outside the pylon as he crossed the goal line, it is not a touchdown. It would be marked out somewhere inside the one yard line. Not quite right, the ball has to break the plane of the goal line extended AND some part of the player’s body needs to cross inside the pylon

[Insert Seinfeld voice] What is the deal with Nebraska and the socks/stockings up to the knee pads? Are their calves exceptionally cold? Do they not have heat that reaches the floors in Lincoln?

High socks: theory and practice: when you go to floor sliding on your side (extending for ball or rolling) going for ball the sleeves on arms (used to be long sleeves) and the socks protect calves when playing defense. You see lots of asian teams with these socks: and nebraska known for defense : there fore socks as defensive equipment!

Same with mens basketball, where there’s often diving for loose balls.

Socks helping is probably more theory than need: but many if my players have (and had) floor burns on outside of calves. Some very nasty: and tbose players get tape and treatment and move to long socks or leggings

I'm all for players being able to wear whatever they feel most comfortable in, as long as it doesn't hinder their play or violate NCAA rules.

It wasn't that many years ago when tall socks were the norm. Probably as much about fashion changes as floor burns. Kind of like basketball shorts over the decades.

Are there any other sports where makeup/cosmetics are used as much as they are used in volleyball? Maybe it is used in many sports and I just haven't noticed as much

All 3 of those do require athletic ability, but I wouldn't call them "sports"

I'm at a casino and there's no volleyball on the board. How do I bet on it?
Let's see I'm plunking some down on my Buckeyes, for example. What would I say to the sportsbook guy while placing the bet?
