not sure when sealy's contract is up but it would make sense for ucla to get a new coach before moving to the big10...usc & ucla are going to be able to capitalize on some of the top recruits in country with living in sunny california & play in the competitive big10...they need a new coach...& i'm not saying usc & ucla don't get top recruits...i'm hoping david hunt stays @ texas for a few seasons (but who knows) USC had the #1 recruiting class this year c/o 22’

Recruits will visit both LA schools and commit to USC because they don’t want to play for Sealy. Keller should send Sealy a big gift

What I’m saying is both pietre and KBB have been contacted for big name jobs. Both of them have turned them down. Both will not leave their current roles and if they did, it would be a HUGE shock to anyone connected in the coaching world Absolutely. It would be a huge shock. Which is not the same as saying it can’t happen. They could win power all as well. The odds they’d leave to go To UCLA are about the same.

This is going to harm both UCLA and USC. Players will not want to play for programs where they have to spend 15-20 hours every other week week traveling cross country for match's. Players will end up going to San Diego, Pepperdine and schools in the WCC and Big West where travel requirements are sane You keep spouting this in a variety of threads. It simply isn't true. Recruits have specifically spoken about how USC and UCLA moving to the Big Ten makes them more attractive. It's opening up additional recruiting areas because athletes will be able to play in the best conference, close to home for many of them, and get to live in LA. The coaching staffs and current athletes are also excited. Changes/upgrades in travel will happen. It is certainly going to take some work to figure out the logistics. But the WCC schools are not really a comparable student experience (the lack of big-time athletics/Power Conference football being a major one). Those schools are also not as academically strong or with as extensive alumni networks. The general crossover between recruits for those programs and recruits for UCLA/USC aren't as much as you would think. Makes sense to me. If I'm a recruit and I'm told that I get to play in the best conference and live in Los Angeles instead of, say, Lincoln, sign me up.

Traveling is a small price to pay to live in a much more desirable place in my opinion. Those kids are going to spend 20x the time in airports than they are the beach. I also think the general public is pretty Clueless as To how much free time these kids have to do things.

Traveling is a small price to pay to live in a much more desirable place in my opinion. I can appreciate that. Not sure recruits value that over being a rockstar vs nobody on campus/community and having a nice chunk of change in your pocket from NLI money.

Doesn't change the fact that living in LA >>> Lincoln for many people.

Not sure recruits value that over being a rockstar vs nobody on campus/community and having a nice chunk of change in your pocket from NLI money. It's NIL, not NLI. And it depends on the recruit. Obviously, Nebraska is doing well in recruiting, and that should continue. Personally, you'd have to pay me a ton of money to ever consider moving back to Lincoln. I lived there for five years, and it's an absolute hard pass for me. But not everyone feels the same way I do.
