not exactly what you're asking for, but heres GP% vs attack (Plummer doesnt have a ton of matches on here. VJP doesnt have many matches on VM) That’s actually pretty close to what I was wondering, thanks. Looks like she slots in right where I thought- good passer, not as terminal. It’s crazy to me that KRob’s kill% is so high. I know she’s had great matches in Italy, but I just think back to the recent national team matches and she was not it…. I can see why she keeps getting brought back as the obvious starter though. Maybe we will see her perform at that level for USA this time around. Is it something about the USA system that’s not working as well for her? Or is she not even playing that badly based on stats and the eye test just looks bad. Only started following international play in the last year or so— sorry for the questions Kelsey probably was USA's best player in IOQT. Imoco uses her better than USA does. USA spams way too many sets to her. She's not set as much in Conegliano. Plus Wolosz is better than Carlini/Micha

I'm 100% against making it international sub count for NCAA, aka not able to have any consistent DS, everyone needs to be 6 ro. etc. I also don't like it being possible to sub out literally all 3 pins though. I'd entertain arguments about subs for one DS versus two. why? Love the opportunity it provides to so many student athletes around the country and IMO it makes the game better/more exciting.

I guess it depends on what you want to prioritize. if you’re focusing on developing players, than less subs is better. if you’re focusing on letting as many people play as possible and having players become specialists, than more subs is better
we already have middles, liberos, setters, and even opposites (in the USA) specialized… 😭

Discussing these rule changes all seems beside the point. The NCAA exists to provide students an opportunity to play their sport in college at a high level. It’s not a pro development league. Taking away subs limits the ability to play for both 1) basically all short players (reminder the US female average height is 5’4”) and 2) good hitters who aren’t great passers. LOVB’s model might be interesting—it gets closer to a European model where young players actually train to go pro rather than to play D1 college ball. Why does men’s D1/D2 volleyball not get the same opportunity? Why does women’s volleyball not have unlimited subs then if its about opportunity? Obviously the answer is some sort of “balance”?

Obviously the answer is some sort of “balance”? there’s over 600 D1 and D2 programs in women’s volleyball. there’s around 60 for men. that’s 10 times the programs and probably 25 times the scholarships, then you add in no DS’s or 6-2’s lol. pretty insane to think about

I think it's gonna be tough for us to win a medal even if we were at full strength imo. I still think our biggest weakness is the coaching staff, but maybe that's just me.
