Understanding JT. JT has changed dramatically since Tokyo. Her personal life has gone from trough, to mountain top, and back to trough and in that process she's evolved into a kind-hearted ,self aware, and sensitive person. That competitive edge that drives star’s like Larson is gone. I don’t see any significant change in her game between now and Paris. She brings what she brings and that’s a whole notch below the top level. Is that enough for the USNT? The VNL won’t be play time, but a battle for a spot in Paris and the final legacy performance for Karch. Can he pull the rabbit out of the hat and repeat?

I want to stan her so hard but I just feel like she fell apart at so many big moments last NT season, getting blocked, mistiming/misconnecting, etc. and it’s hard to watch when we already didn’t have any other terminal hitters on the floor |

Before we head into 2024, I just want to shout out some of the "new" faces we saw competing for Team USA this summer that allowed for injury recovery/rest and contributed in a big way: Khalia Lanier ( finally), Avery Skinner, and Asjia O'Neal. Whether they make Paris 2024 or not, each of them had some standout matches and helped USA secure a spot in the 2024 Olympics. They stepped up against some tough competition. Proved they deserved their spots. I'm glad we got to witness their rise!   |
