Not to overhype these two fsn bases, but is this the most pivotal match of the season so far? Pitt Louisville felt like it, but this feels even bigger. I think the rematch of the NC is giving it even more fanfare (nationally not locally). But I would agree that this has got to be up there with top 4 seeds in play, Big 10 championship implication, Nebraska newly number 1 and many people interested in the streak ending or continuing and then on top of that a good amount of people who want to see if Nebraska deserves that number 1 ranking. For me, I'm scared %*$#less like its final four time haha. The difference - and both coaches have more-or-less said this - is that come Thursday morning, there's still lots of volleyball left to play, still chances to get better, to work towards season goals, etc etc. Tonight is really big, but nobody's season comes to an end.

Every time they mention it’s a rematch from last year’s natty - drink Every time they mention Wisconsin’s streak over Nebraska - husker fans take a drink. Every time they mention #1 Nebraska - badger fans take a drink. Texas gets mentioned. Take a shot. On screen graphic of all the ranked B1G programs. Take 3. Mention the final four in Omaha. Take 2. Cook slams down his clipboard. Huskers drink. Reflection off Kelly’s head blinds the camera. Badgers drink. Coach can’t find the challenge card. Finish your drink. Wow you ran away with the prompt - bravo! Also looks like I will not be attending work the rest of the week lol You guys are making me question what an average Wednesday night for some of us is… My idea of a ‘drink’ is just a full sip ~1oz of beer. So let’s say 10 drinks per beer. So I would estimate for husker fans: Rematch mentions - 5 Streak - 5 Texas - 2 shots B1G graphic - 2 (6) Omaha - 3 (6) Cook - 3 Challenge - 1 3 beers and 2 shots in 2.5 hours. Enough to feel warm inside but not miss work tomorrow. If it goes 5… maybe a sick day. Also, please drive responsibly.

I think Wisconsin fans and athletic department should quickly embrace Kubick's proposal that the Field House is a dungeon. The torture motif, complete with implements hung from the walls (NC banner included); the Badger smell that pervades the dark, dank, horrible rooms; the screams. Sheffield in his hood. It could prove to be the best Division 1 venue!

Sheffield in his hood. I only see this "It's not easy being...a bald guy in polyester who lives in a dungeon."

Really? That's what you took from this interview? - Talking up your teammates is polite, and common to the point of being expected. - Talking about the things that Nebraska has been doing well was in response to a question about what the team has been doing well. What would you expect? - Yes, she said that the Wisconsin gym is a dark, cold dungeon. Madi is pretty well known for not having much of a filter when being interviewed. I would ask other people to watch the interview themselves instead of taking Skullars' (or my) take on it. I think Kubik's interviews are fun. Ever since she went against John Cook at media days about summer practices I've made it a point to watch her interviews from time to time, and she does put a lot of coach/captain speech in there but when she forgets it's hilarious. I saw one of hers earlier this year where she mimicked getting aced by Lauenstein in practice (when asked about her serve) and it was funny in a way that is hard to describe. Personally, I have no idea how you can be that happy (and yeah, I'm sure we don't see the whole picture) and yet stay focused and driven. It's pretty impressive. Though I hope we provide some dungeon gloom for her to experience tomorrow. Good take on Madi’s interviews, especially the “no filter” bit. Kinda like me. Loved the time (last year?) she semi-jokingly laughed about trying to break fingers. And her revelation that the Husker players called their DSs mini people (that’s not exactly what she said, but it had some un-PC flavor to it. Can’t believe nobody’s commented on Sheffield’s remark (when speaking about Nebraska’s defense), that “Nobody can score against those suckers.” He absolutely walked it back and tried to make it clear nothing derogatory was intended, but still.

Literally since the basketball days I've never once heard it called cold. I have heard it described as a broiler, a hotbox, an oven, a furnace, and a steam room.

So if we were collectively making a drinking game for tonight what would be on it? Every time they mention it’s a rematch from last year’s natty - drink Every time they mention Wisconsin’s streak over Nebraska - husker fans take a drink. I see them getting mentioned a lot lol - I predict at least 6 times.
