Auburn and Georgia solidified their position over the weekend. SEC is looking at 5-7 NCAAT entries imo. 8 isn't outside the realm of possibility either.

Is Arkansas' bid in jeopardy now with that loss to Georgia over the weekend or are they solidly in their with those preseason ranked wins? Their conference play has seemed shaky as of late (especially with the injuries). They have lost a number of tight matches in 5.

If they stay even remotely close to that number, the committee won't leave them out.

If they stay even remotely close to that number, the committee won't leave them out. They also only have five matches left, with three that it would be pretty tough to see them lose (vs Mizzou & Bama). The bigger issue is whether they stay Top 25 because the RPI bonus points could impact the number on KY/FL's seeds and whether LSU or MSU fall on the bubble.

Look at the Home/Road splits for all the mid-level SEC teams competing for a bid in matches against each other
Arky: 2-0 home, 0-2 road (@auburn x2 remaining) Auburn: 4-0 home, 0-1 road (v Arky x2 remaining) TN: 3-0 home, 0-3 road (v MSU x2 remaining) LSU: 3-1 home, 0-2 road (v UGA x2 remaining) Georgia: 1-0 home, 0-4 road (@lsu x2 remaining) MSU: 2-1 home, 1-2 road (@tn x2 remaining)
17 games and only 2 road wins. This is where the unbalanced schedule really bites - Auburn isn't going to have a good win away from home all year and will slide really high into the tournament. Auburn with a very favorable schedule here with 6 of 7 at home. Georgia getting 6 of 7 away. LSU with 6 of 8 at home.
SEC schedule is really skewing results, and the lack of double round robin is also helping a lot of these teams pull each other up as it's not forcing losses on each other (or against KY/FL).

Also, against the Top 8 teams in the SEC - Auburn is literally only playing 10 matches - and only 3 on the road. If you combine that with one of the worst OOC schedules of any at-large team in recent memory, it's kind of shocking.

Next year they go home and road again. The schedule will still be skewed in terms of not being a round robin, but it won’t be two matches back to back against the same opponent in the same venue.

Also a 13 team conference with an 18 game schedule is ridiculous to begin with. (Looking at you too, ACC)). They should go up to 20, or, alternatively, the Committee needs to recognize how that inflates RPI.

If you look at the schedule at a high level, it makes some sense. 13 teams, so you play 6 of the team twice and 6 of the teams once. Next year you flip the 6 teams you play. Usually the teams you place twice are home and home, just thank covid for completely jacking that up. I'm gonna guess the Big 12 adopts this schedule approach for the next 2 years too before kicking out the red river rivalry peeps (I mean let them leave).
