Texas State with an RPI #46 right now: 1-2 vs. T25 RPI, 2-3 vs. T50 RPI.
Wow.

Things not going San Diego's way. BYU at #28 unadjusted, #27 adjusted Pepperdine at #51 unadjusted The good thing for San Diego is they can beat BYU before the Friday RPI comes out when the committee meets. I have BYU very close to that 25 line. I believe they could still end up ahead of USC, Purdue, Western Kentucky and Kansas if they lose. It will be interesting to see where they are after posting the WKU loss today (or has that been posted on figstats?).

Ohio State bombing this week brings up an interesting scenario next week. Say we get this result: Wisconsin def. Nebraska Ohio State def. Wisconsin Stanford doesn't lose, Pitt doesn't lose, San Diego doesn't lose I'm not sure the committee could justify a Big 10 regional host. They can justify it by RPI and quantity of Top 25 wins.

Maybe....but Wisconsin win on Friday gives outright BiG championship. Sat vs Ohio State then is meaningless and could allow Sheffield to rest a lot of starters. I still believe an outright B1G champ gets a 1 seed.

Does the committee respect James Madison as a *Top 25* team? I'm sorry - they shouldn't. But it's the metrics we use. It's going to be interesting.

Was not expecting that RPI jump from JMU. It's the Sun Belt. Not only their conference schedule and divisions that help them for RPI - but their conference tournament format also favors RPI (giving double byes) They added these teams to their RPI this week (i'm removing the JMU losses from their record): Georgia Southern (16-9) Troy (18-11) Texas State (23-5)

And really, if the solution is for conferences to play fewer matches and dodge each other - the NCAA is complicit then?

Oregon #10 going into Selection Week. We'll drop for Cal/OSU, but I like us on the 3 line (#9-#12) somewhere.
