21-9 Mexico up, Sofia is 5-0-5 from what I remember (unless you count her down balling a ball over the net from 15 feet off)
Mexico wins first set 25-11. Sofia is 6-1-9. Ung next highest scorer with 4. She’s running the middles well but they just aren’t scoring at the clip they should be.
Don’t think anyone is even having fun at this point. Honduras’ passing is more than tragic. Think Mexico has 6-7 aces through their first 16 points this set. 16-8 at TO. Now Sofia is going off again. Pretty much three straight points for her. I *think* she’s like 9-1-14 maybe?? Just added an ace. 22-10 at the TO. Mexico closes it out 25-13. Sofia has 10. Ramirez, and Hondoruas’ lone bright spot Duron with 8.
Mexico sweeps 25-14. mostly backups in the third.

With the new rules (participation in the senior national team) now for sure she will not be able to change sports nationality. (Good thing, in my opinion).

the U23 DJ playing “here comes the boom” after every kill, no matter what, is killing me slowly
Mexico dominates the first two sets (-11, -15), and the bench comes on for the third like last game, so I’m tapping out. I’m really only here for Sof (and somewhat Argentina).
Sofia was/is the leading scorer with 9 points. She had a few more errors today than yesterday going for big OOS swings or crafty OOS shots, but for the most part, was still head and shoulders above everyone else. She scores almost at will from the backrow when it’s a set she can actually work with. Ung’s connection with the outsides is kinda shaky but otherwise she looks good setting the middle and opposite.

Mexico has some nice players that seem like they could start to make noise at the Senior NT Level, but I'm not sure if/when they'll really put it all together.
This tournament is a nice look at some young setters playing in the NCAA - Ung (Washington State), Rodriguez (Miami-FL freshman), Anchante (Marquette)

Canada could be improved, I'm not sure if DOM will be better than they are now but I doubt they'll be much worse. The later qualifications will come by ranking spots. It'll be interesting to see how many make it from NORCECA. We'll have to see what happens with the mid-level European teams.

behind a 28(!!) point performance from Sofia (double Mexico’s next highest scorer), Mexico takes it over Argentina 3-2! Argentina had three players with 15+ points.

There's some interesting verbiage in the new regulations for federation changes..
"Only one (1) player having previously played for another national team and who has changed Federation of Origin within the last four (4) years can be part of a team, for a given event. The four-year period shall start from the date that the change of Federation of Origin of the player was approved."
to me, that sounds like a pathway to Vargas+Alexia for Turkey
