Yes, the seeding is
Group A
| Group B
| Group C
| Host (France)
| 1st ranked team
| 2nd ranked team | 5th ranked team | 4th ranked team | 3rd ranked team | 6th ranked team | 7th ranked team | 8th ranked team | 11th ranked team | 10th ranked team | 9th ranked team |
So, 5th and 6th ranked teams would get the easiest draw (two free wins) What is the qualification for the elimination rounds? Top two in each pool plus the two 3rd place teams with best record? i am not sure, but i suppose that must be the case.
i think it's a terrible rule though, because you just know that 95% of the time the last ranked team in group A would be 0-3 0-3 0-3.

Which means France will probably make the quarterfinals. Sounds like quite the favorable draw for the hosts.

I agree that it is extremely favorable though.

I'm not sure. We will have to wait and see how they fair in next years VNL and also see how the pools shake out. We are less than a year away and many of France's starters have to be healthy after a long club season. I feel like other top teams have more depth.

Using world ranking right now the pools would look like:
France-Brazil-China-African Team Turkey-Italy-Poland-Netherlands USA-Serbia-Japan-Dominicana
The latter two seem really fun, while the 3rd place team in those pools could get screwed over by France / the African Qualifier.

netherlands still being a top 10 team is surprising to me how come ? they just dropped off and never qualified for anything relevant like VNL final 8 (either 2022 or 2023), olympics, world championship final 8, etc in recent years.
if euro was round-robin format, they'd never be in top 4 cuz they can't beat turkey, can't beat italy, can't beat serbia, and can't beat poland. just have to fight it out with tier 2 euro teams like belgium and germany.

The team kind of shined briefly with Sloetjes.

why would she have to wait ? She’s already been cleared I'm unclear on the rules. I figured she was a go.
tldr. Antropova and Vargas ok.
