i dont expect it but i dont see why he wouldnt want to coach his own country bc Italy won’t let him coach imoco too. But maybe they would change that rule for him you're right, but now i'm wondering how is velasco who is rumored to be the next NT coach, going to do that and coach busto arsizio? |

The media is trying to speak Santarelli to Italy into existence I think it is not possible for at least two reasons: with Turkey he has started a path that leads at least to the Olympics, and with that team a medal is not a mirage; the Italian national team is in a pitiful state: risking his own career to fix the problems of the national team is not a brilliant move. Velasco also has a degree in psychology, knows how to motivate a group of people and has had a very positive experience in volleyball. His good name would shield him from the criticism of possible failure. |

He's best served banking a medal for Turkey (any medal next year would be a good achievement - even if they don't bring home gold) and consolidate his standing. If he wants to switch for Paris quad, at least he can say "mission accomplished, I now need to go help my home country" and save face. |
