Great breakdown, any insights on other teams we haven't seen for a while? Honestly, I am so unfamiliar with Japan that I could use a refresher. Maybe I'll write some stuff about the Asian teams as we get closer to VNL, but most of them will probably have similar/identical lineups to last NT season! China will have Zhu and hopefully Yao Di returning but otherwise will be mostly the same lineup.

Seems like OH is a lock with Zhu and LYY, but maybe Yao Di gets a turn at starting setter?

Seems like OH is a lock with Zhu and LYY, but maybe Yao Di gets a turn at starting setter? Against a strong team (e.g. USA) in an important competition (e.g. OG finals) I would go with
Zhu+LYY (there are no backups for these two)
Gong+Yao Di starting (Ding Xia backup)
Wang Yuanyuan+Yuan Xinyue (maybe with Xue Yizhi coming in) Wang Mengjie libero
In terms of new players, I'd like to see Wang Yifan, Zhuang Yushan, Zhou Yetong, and some younger setters get a look. Not too clear on how the middles are looking like, but there's a young middle from Tianjin that's decent. Would also be nice to have a healthy setter.
(obviously, would also like to see Xue Yizhi debut on the national team)

i'd like wang yunlu to be retained on the team. i think she's a solid third option, and her experience with the national team last year should help her settle into international play. did ding xia play during the chinese league this season? i didn't see her with liaoning when i watched. i have a strong feeling cai bin will choose yao di and diao linyu as the setters. they've had a good season, but i still want ding to start for china.

I'd keep Wang Yunlu as well but she can't compare to LYY or Zhu. Ding Xia did not play this season.

We will see during VNL ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)
Maybe one of these days, when I am less lazy, I will go to chinese social media and check if there are any pictures and guess what they might indicate.

Croatia released their 30 player roster for the summer. I italicized some former/future NCAA players and put their schools next to their names. There was a typo on the original roster announcement. Mia Bilusic (currently an OH at UMBC) has been selected as one of the OHs, not Mia Busic.
