Do scholarship students who graduate early and still have eligibility stay at their current school or usually enter the portal? In 2021, most of the first batch of "COVID seniors" - those who would've had 2020 be their final season - stayed at their original schools because the NCAA made a one-time exception to the 12-scholarship cap, so that those students could stay on scholarship at their original school without counting against the cap. This allowed schools to keep their commitments to incoming freshman and let their seniors play one more season. That was only a one-time thing, so now a lot more are entering the portal because their undergraduate institutions cannot keep them on scholarship - they're full up with incoming recruits and can no longer exceed the 12 scholarship cap.

Sorry I am not talking about Covid eligibility. I am meeting someone that gets their undergrad in three years and then wants to stay at their current school for the last year of eligibility. A player that is currently on scholarship

A player that is currently on scholarship Typically the school will honor the fourth year scholarship. However this is a question better discussed with the player's head coach and not a message board.

I definitely think there could be some big names entering the portal. Players who are graduating now and decide they want to go somewhere else for grad school. Players who see spring playing time cut into because of a freshman early enrollee or new transfer. Id be surprised to see any big name *starters* leaving their programs... but I think we could see 'big' bench player names lol. wisco and Texas specifically are pretty stacked with (likely) starters who have 2 or more years of eligibility left so I wouldn't be surprised to see someone leave one of those teams for more playing time (im sure your program is amazing its not personal don't come for me). I would say the same for Nebraska right now in terms of being stacked on the bench but I see it less likely because they're still so young, like half the team has only been there since January lol. Not picking on these programs just don't think anyone else has the level of bench talent that these teams do. and with the eligibility some have we could see these huge recruits sit 3 years on the bench which could be a dealbreaker for them

I thought she played in maybe one match, but that's someone who could probably play sooner somewhere else.

I wonder if she is getting buried in the roster by all the other great pin hitters Nebraska has. Last year she came in late during a very tense 5-set match against Creighton and played great...then we didn't see her again for the rest of the year. She got lost in the roster shuffle. I wouldn't be surprised to see her transfer at some point. She could be a starter at a lot of other programs. Plus, Nebraska has zero seniors on their roster, yet they have 3 commits for the 2024 class. Someone is going to have to go to make room for the new players in 2024.

That is kind of what I was wondering, too. How the heck do you bring all those girls in without losing some of the current ones? Hayden is one who committed on June 15th of her Soph/Jr year and we've barely heard of her since then.
