i’m saying it was clearly bad enough to where no amount of out of system setting would have made her impact a net positive. now I like GG and im sure she’ll improve and bounce back but Wisconsin wins if she nails more passes. I totally get it and agree with you, I'm just trying to provide a silver lining at this point. the silver lining is that Wisconsin brings like everyone back and has an off-season to work on passing or being in a Kelly Sheffield patented DS transfer

I think he convinced himself that secondary setting was more important than passing at some point in the season. Still surprised to see Wrobel so deeply stuck on the bench as well.

I cant believe Franklin passed that badly and he had Shanel on the bench that whole time and she never got a shot

That's a great question. She disappeared the last two matches of the season. She had 14 assists vs Pitt. As a libero. 14 assists. She was also a freshman who didn't arrive until after practice already started. She showed flashes of some spectacular defense and her serving was pretty good for not having done it before. Give her a full off season to work on serve receive and I think you will see a huge improvement in her overall game. She brings alot of energy and positivity to the team as well. She definitely wasn't great last weekend and may just be tired after the grueling end of conference play and getting used to being away from home but I'm really excited about her future.

All three are in the portal - Murr, Gonzales, and Podraza. What’s up with that? Seems like PSU last year.

The 6-2 chewed up four subs per rotation. Sheffield would frequently - but not always - use a serving sub for Franklin, but then bring her right back in to have her on the floor as a backrow attack option. Later in the year, he was as likely to spend the subs for a serving sub for Caroline Crawford, playing with a brace/cast on her hand after a broken finger and surgery, leaving Franklin on the floor for the full six rotations.. The trade-off was a DS for serve-receive vs Franklin as an attack option. He mostly chose backrow attack... and managed to win the B1G championship by three games with that choice.

Is a protracted deep dive into Wisconsin's offense or passing in the tournament even close to transfer portal tea? Nope.

You are correct it is not What's up with all the Ohio State players transfering after a really good season. They killed the B1G until the last 2 weekends (which I still don't ubderstand) and had a nice tournament run until running into Texas.

Kind of makes me think that something happened within the program that led to a "distraction" of sorts, and dropping those two matches against MD and IN. And maybe that distraction was serious enough for folks to want to get out after graduating. Idk, all conjecture on my part. It is good news that none of the underclassmen are bouncing to the portal, though. Means it may be a scholarship thing / academically related.
