It seems like they were sleeping walking through those games. At USC in particular, they began with such low energy, like they weren’t motivated. I would *hope* that’s not the case for the tournament, especially with maybe a harder than expected first round opponent. Having Francis back, as much for her fire as for her vball skillz, would help. Fingers crossed on that front. This has nothing to do with high or low energy. I've been saying all season that this team was very good, but seriously flawed--bad defense, mediocre blocking, inconsistent hitting. I expect them to get past these two matches, but I wouldn't be shocked to see them lose either one. The whole PAC is weaker than usual. I seriously doubt anybody is counting chickens too early! Well, if you've been saying it, then it must be true Jk, but... I disagree. Anyway, whether we call it lack of energy or, say, complacency or that they're "very good but seriously flawed," I think it'll be interesting to watch how they progress against other very good but imperfect teams. I also won't be surprised if they don't win their regional, but I'm rooting for them anyway.

No knee pads for Francis everyone else has them as they watch the Hawaii LSU match. For what it’s worth. Ok. So at least we know she won’t be playing back row. 😉

Looks like Francis is sitting another one out. I think tomorrow. Hambly was talking to the trainer proceeded to walk over to the team, who where in the seats watching the match, he talked to them as a group and then said something to Francis specifically to which Francis responded with a thumbs up. My feeling was that he said let’s wait one mor night… .. but it’s not like I pay attention to any of that kind of stuff….

This ESPN loop is pretty exhausting. "The 5th Set" program on ESPN+ is nice filler while waiting for a match to start. They ought to put that on instead of the commercial loop.
