Can’t say I blame Becca. She is on a team that emphasizes 6 rotation players, a scholarship DS is coming, and out-of-state tuition at Illinois is expensive.

Illinois is due for an international trip this summer. If they don’t have luck in the portal, maybe they can recruit an elite OH from Europe or South America to compete for a starting position.

It appears Lily Barry is in Anaheim participating in the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program and Krista Vansant Hendrickson is there as a coach. Good exposure for Illinois.

There's finally some major excitement happening with the Illinois women's basketball team. With the arrival of first year coach, Shauna Green, the Illini are off to their best start in many years (12-2 overall 2-1 in the B1G). Big home game tomorrow (Jan.1) at 2pm with the 12th-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes (11-3 overall 3-0 B1G). If you're within driving distance of the State Farm Center, come watch the running-gunning style of this new brand of Illinois women's basketball. The Illini are an exciting team to watch. Becca Sakoda is in the portal now Wonder if she has designs on coming home. If so, it'll be harder now that Mandi Morioka of Penn State has already committed to transferring to Hawaii. |
