There are worse things than having a 6’1” pin hitter who can move into the setting position if your setter (god forbid) twists an ankle. Despite our difficulties in recruiting pin hitters, they are easier to replace than setters big enough to block. This! Neither one of the two back ups have the size to play in the Big1O if Brooke gets hurt. Listed at 5'8" & 5'9" and that's probably being generous. |

A rising tide floats all boats? If Illini WBB increases interest in Illinois women’s sports I’m all for it, it has to help volleyball. I wouldn’t want the basketball posts to dominate this thread, but occasional good news, particularly during volleyball’s slowest time of the year, is OK with me. It is just as relevant as a Florida setter who did not have any potential ties to Illinois, moving to Pepperdine. I’m also OK with the information on the Pepperdine transfer. Either way, it is better than weeks with no posts at all.

I thought it was interesting that Genesis was only named co-B1G player of the week with a player from Indiana. The Indiana player did have great 2 game statistics with Indiana losing to Michigan State and defeating Nebraska in OT. I guess it is good to spread the accolades around. I was at the Iowa game. Genesis had a poor first half due to foul trouble, but she was the difference maker sinking pressure-filled 3 pt. shots to knock off the perennially nationally-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes in the closing minutes of Illinois' 90-86 win. |

Haha. No. I saw a photo during the game and thought about running around to try to get a pic, but there were A LOT of Illini fans at the game. Fantastic turnout.
Side note: Miss State fans were some of the nicest people. The whole atmosphere was so much fun.
