If any, Adeyemi will be the bail out hitter for Hawaii. Stella needs to work on passing as well last Paula G. Asking a 5-9 OH who never played a point to be our bail out hitter this year is kind of a reach. I’ll stick with Gursching because she took 1400 swings and hit barely below .300 at the D1 level…even in a lower level conference. 1400 swings, 5kps and .289 are all American numbers. Exactly. I think the thought of Stella being the immediate replacement for anyone not cutting it offensively and acclimating her to being as amazing as I know she will be is a smarter trajectory for her. Even at 5’9-11” her vertical makes her height a non factor but she’s literally going to come in as the least overall experienced player on the team and people keep thinking that she’s going to be the go to from Day 1? There’s just no evidence that will be the case based off of how the staff usually structures their lineups. I am sure she’s getting extra reps in preparation but she doesn’t have a ton of 6 rotation experience. No one is counting her out, I just don’t understand how people are coming to the conclusions they’re coming to lol

There was finally a good connection between Bamis and Jackie and she had a pretty nice kill in this video that was recently posted (3rd video) http://instagram.com/p/CtF_Nb1LJhR

I really want to watch this full game against Brazil’s U19. Looked like some good play by Matias but want to see how consistent she was.

Looks like Kennedi is getting offensive too. Good to see. Kennedi really didn’t put up much offense at Utah. Hope she will be more offensive this season so we don’t get stuck without Amber in the front row.

Speaking of playing professionally, real pro volleyball is following Amber that’s a good sign she may get on a team, that is if she wants to stay in the USA and play. Others have said she would need to go overseas, and I think they're right. I would love to see her play on the National team, but I don't know if she would break the line up. For the VLN team rn, there is Butler and O'Neal from Texas and Rettke sharing the responsibilities of the middle position.

I'm very entertained. And despite what you said. And I will call it exactly what it is....mediocre, because right now they are. I'm not spreading lies, or anything untrue, because Hawaii hasn't been ranked in a while, and been having a hard time getting past the first and seconds of the NCAA. Didn’t say you’re not entitled to your opinion, just saying that people shouldn’t give AF about you or anything you say. It’s not constructive, it’s just pointing out obvious negatives for the sake of pointing out obvious negatives. Not sure why you are bent out of shape over the truth, and my opinion. What's with the "AF" for?

One thing I've noticed, some people don't like to hear the truth. And I get that, they want to believe what they believe. They start bullying like they're dealing with children. It's sad that they get all defensive over others people's opinions. I this this case, it was the truth. What Wahine All-American said was the truth.

Like I said, you are welcome to it, it doesn’t change the fact that you’re only expressing it for the sake of expressing a negative opinion. All 3 of you can stay mad and keep crying lol I’m not even the only one who thinks that your “opinion expression” just comes off as unnecessary negativity. The season hasn’t started yet, you’re griping about past seasons. If you can’t get over it and need to cry, don’t expect every person here to bow down and agree with you.

Just shut down the entire thread. Truth or simply an opinion? Regardless, IMO, nothing positive, or constructive that contributes. I didn’t miss anything of consequence. So, shut down thread and start anew.

The 6-2 with the setters replacing the middles would work with this year's roster as long as Matias is ready to go. But even that team ended up going back to a more traditional 6-2 by the end of the year with Okino assuming the full-time libero roll. That final team made it to the Sweet 16. Sigh... what could have been with that 2020 team if COVID didnt happen... And yeah, I think we have two more scholarships. One more commitment yet to announce. But even if we were to move forward with this roster of 12, I think we'd be really good. Anywho... Gursching reminds me a lot of Hellvig both in game and personality. That podcast interview of her was a good listen. She'll fall in love with Hawaii no doubt and I can understand why she committed here. She'll love indoor and beach (which she said she picked up first and was in the German NT pipeline early on), as well the beauty of the island, the family-culture of the islands and team, and the immense love for volleyball from the fans and state. She won't have to beg for 200 fans to show up for a game lol. I have a really good feeling about the impact she'll make as a transfer. I agree, could be a Rasmussen/Van Sickle type of impact. And to think she came from Youngstown State. I have a feeling that last recruit might be another international player transferring from another university. Just a thought... But didn’t that team went back to the traditional offense due to Jolie getting hurt? I thought they were very good with the 6-2. But when Jolie got hurt, they didn’t have an adequate replacement for her so they went back to a traditional 5-1. She was lights out in the first tournament with wins over USD and UW. Got hurt during the West Virginia game and probably forced Robyn to go more traditional. No they didn't. They still ran a 6-2 with Iosia hitting in the front when Choy came in to set. Okino as a traditional libero came in for the middles, and Choy came in for Hellvig, while Iosia played all six rotations.
