OSU vs MN Stats: KILLS K K/S HITTING PCT OSU 1561 14.19 .254 MN 1401 13.22 .262
ASSISTS A/S
OSU 13.31 MN 12.19
BLOCKING BLK/S OSU 2.19 MN 2.92
DIGS D D/S
OSU 1744 15.85 MN 1408 13.28
POINTS OSU 1924 MN 1852
I looked all of this up because I just watched the Six Rotations Sweet 16 breakdown and Mick Haley said that he's picking OSU because they have better stats. Wanted to see for myself how they match up.
The "Points" stat is... kind of pointless. It depends on how many sets they've played. ...and it looks to me like OSU has played four more sets than the Gophers.

Anyone know what the severity is of Londot being in a walking boot today? Where did you see that? I don't have the insight but that does not look good for OSU without her playing tomorrow.

Anyone know what the severity is of Londot being in a walking boot today? She was in one before last Friday's round 1 game as well. I also had a friend tell me she was in one after the road Minnesota game back in October, so I think it is one of those minor injuries that she has been playing through for most of the year.

Updated links and added two new press releases, one from each school. Note that there are two links for live stats the first is statbroadcast and the second is NCAA. Go Gophers!

I feel like most of this OSU roster has been in a walking boot at some point.

If MN stresses OSU's outsides on serve receive, takes away the cross-court shot from Londot, and Booth/Davis are on, then MN wins. Landfair can afford to have a lukewarm match if others are hot.
OSU needs to get hot quickly to steam-roll MN to win. They can't afford Londot having a mediocre match.
I'm curious if it comes down to bench depth. MN has more impact bench players like Gros, Crowl, and Hanson. I'm not sure OSU has the bench depth if Gonzalez or Londot are off.

Other than maybe a serving sub/rest while in the back for Londot, I can only see OSU making a sub for an injury. They didn't even try subs while being crushed @ Maryland. The last time a non-starting hitter played any time was @ Indiana on 10/1 when Grunze was given time and it wasn't because someone was struggling.

Honestly I think we should get Gros in early (and then transition to Davis). Gros is a great underused talent, and it'd be good to get some different looks. Also, having Davis in our back pocket would give the chance to change things up immediately if we get off to a bad start

if bad Londot shows up, I expect this to be a 3-0 Gopher decision

Does anyone know of a bar or restaurant hosting a watch party in Minneapolis for the game? I would like to watch with some fellow gopher fans. I saw something about Green Mill in St. Paul on a facebook group for MN fans: www.facebook.com/groups/5773979995959219I stopped by the Market at Malcolm Yards today. malcolmyards.market/Near the U and easy to get to. If MN prevails we will be there for the Saturday match. All kinds of different food offerings, a whole wall of beer taps, and a BIG flat screen in the Boxcar Bar tinyurl.com/bdevekvuIf you haven't been... it's a unique food hall where they swipe your credit card, give you a new card that you tap/swipe at any vendor. don't need cash or repeated transactions. you get an email receipt.

Not sure where to post this since I can’t find an active Ohio State team thread, but—
You hear a lot about Londot being the best player on the court—either for her own team when she’s on, or for the opposing team when she’s off. How good would she be if, when she had an off night, she was just playing good to ok? Would she be a NPOY candidate?
