Reitsma will out serve Eggleston! Then she quickly realizes it was for nothing as tournament Akana is right around the corner, lurking, ready to strike

I opened up the box scores for their last three matches and they show nine, nine, and ten players playing in each set. those are all their recent roundabout of DSs or serving subs. Hamilton and Reitsma are both 6 rotations. Naber is the usual DS for (Opposite) Foti. Dragani, Holstrom, and Vandenberg have all made recent appearances as either a DS (for Naber) or serving sub. It's a carousel cause none of them (minus the recovering Vandenberg) are good at passing lol. avid, the best source for Big East info. Not that others don't have good info, too, but avid's posts are fantastic and informative regarding the conference.

Don't know much about Marq other then when I stumbled across the Marquette/Creighton match and they seemed very evenly matched in terms of arm strength and blocking.
Went to watch the first set of their last victory over Georgia Tech. It was shock to see GT choke away the lead in the first set. But my initial thought after that first and only set rewatch was, "Like Georgia, but not as heavy of an arm".
Any Longhorn fans watch their game against GT? Thoughts?

I’ve watched Marquette several times this year. I’m on my phone so I’ll wait until I get to a computer, but relatively briefly the key things in my mind are - great setter (better than SKT, IMO, and I love SKT) balanced, very good arm in Hamilton. Not as dangerous a serving team as Georgia, IMO. Their middles aren’t as good as Baylor’s, but their pins are better. Just a very solid team overall. Better than any team in the Big 12 other than Baylor, and pretty evenly matched with the Bears, IMO. It’s a step up in competition from the first two rounds for sure.

In the first set, I kept seeing Marquette hitting straight into GT's block. But I checked the box score later and they ended up out-blocking GT, significantly. I guess they cleaned that up.

Watched Georgia Tech. Reitsma is a tough server but I don’t think across the board they are as tough as a Georgia or Texas. The setter is really good, the Texas serve game will need to get them out of system to limit where she can go with the ball. The pins are all nice players, the setter makes brings them up a notch. I think as a group the pins are better than Georgia. Fleck, Halter and Akana will need to be at a high level to keep the ball off the floor and get Texas into transition. The MB’s are active and nice players. Texas passing and SKT decision making should be the key. Finding the right player in one on one situations will be key.

Marquette is a solid team. Can be really scrappy in D. The libero can play out of her mind. I really like Anchante. Moving Foti to RS was a master stroke. The middles are less imposing IMO. Theis is a good coach.
I honestly think they will give Texas a game, but I don't see them winning, though I'll be rooting for them because they are Wisconsin volleyball.

I think marquette is a great example of a really solid 16 seed. Really nice pieces and overall good team but shouldn’t give Texas *too* much trouble and they aren’t expected to do much more than that as the 16 seed

Should be a great test, but not TOO draining hopefully, before a really really difficult match.

Texas playing their game = 3-0 and it isn’t close. Texas forgetting how to pass and play defense and giving attitude on the court = still Texas wins 3-2 in my opinion. They are that loaded and I’m not sure Marquette has enough to exploit Texas. But stranger things have happened….and the times I’ve watched Anchante she was giving enchantments 😂
