The returning players, and our new recruits will be a great team. I'd like to see everyone in the gym after a Christmas break working towards winning a National Championship in 2023.

I was thinking this same thing. At what point do we start talking about the setting coach? Even their "good" sets are moon balls, and I can't think of a team with worse connections to the middles. ... But there is absolutely nothing wrong with this team that good setting won't fix. We've always been a moon ball team. That had a chance to change with Hildebrandt imho, but with him gone, Cook is going back to run what he knows. (and has worked for him)

I'm sorry for the team but the 2022 season was never meant to be from the moment we saw Orr's early struggles. Banking on an impact player with so much hype coming in and taking over can be risky. Kennedi is not the same player, neither physically nor mentally, that she was prior to her injury and I think the staff shares some of the fault in how they handled her journey back in terms of confidence and training, but at the end of the day she just couldn't meet the moment when she had chances out there. Nicklin was out for a good while, Kennedi had ample opportunity to run away with it. I feel for Evans a bit because yeah this wasn't really a responsibility you would expect a walk-on to have to manage, but at the same time if you join the team and train every day it's because you want to compete and feel you can be good enough to get on the court so I don't see why her level of play shouldn't be scrutinized like others'. Nicklin struggled with a lingering back injury since before the season began, along with other health issues that she's publicly discussed, and I just don't think she was in a physical state where she could comfortably run a 5-1 this year which to me was a big factor in why it never happened considering the deficit in points when she was off the court. I am going to really miss seeing her make some insane defensive plays look routine back there and her fight. At some point, in John's Cook "tell-al" book, I want the real reason we never even entertained the 5-1 with Nicklin this year. There must have been things behind the scenes that we don't know about. Frankly this whole season feels like a bunch of stuff happened that we don't know about and everyone was just trying their best. not having an m1 played a role

13 of the 15 (including 10 top-10) on the roster next year are top 20 recruits. i don't know if any team in any ncaa sports has had that kind of a recruiting run (and counting). the pressure will be on to produce results in the form of conference and ncaa championships; and secondarily to develop players in terms of their successes in the NCAA and their pro and NT careers thereafter. in that light, i hope Kennedi will be able to shine in our system still and lead us to great things.

I don't want to hear about the stupid recruiting rankings. Recruits are ranked high, partially because we're after them. I remember when the Lincoln Journal Star was saying our recruiting class 2 years ago was the best of all time in any sport. Still think that's the case? Fans are still holding onto those unrealistic expectations out o all of the players.

The real reason is most likely that they felt this system gave them the best chance to win. That drives pretty much every decision there.
