Why? Minny already has two young opposites on their roster. I wonder if this might mean Schnichels is redshirting this Fall. Her and Swenson together would be a lot of fun since they have played together for many years.

I think this team is all set for this year and next with all the pins they get, pending any transfers in the future.

I am happy with the fact that we are transferring in experienced players. Now...if KCook is more willing to sub, when a player is struggling (even for a few plays if not for an entire set) then I am all for these transfers. Maybe he would be willing to run a 6-2, if necessary.
I am not going to question his decisions on these transfers. So far it appears KCook might be willing to switch things up compared to Hugh. These Spring matches should let us know where some of these bench players are in their all important development.

I’m sure KCook will play the odds and keep his best players on the floor most of the time.

In one of my (many) sleepless nights with a newborn last night… I watched some Cal matches on YouTube since I honestly don’t think I’ve ever watched them play. Obviously a small sample size but some notes: - Grote was definitely their go to in OOS balls and she was pretty good at taking out the trash (and there was A LOT of trash… the setting was horrible and passing not much better). - She has a heavy swing and she’s quick in transition. They had her doing some full court sprints in serve receive to hit Opp Annie Drews style. - She’s also very versatile, in the 2 matches I watched she played a 3ro Opp in a 6-2, a 6ro Opp in a 5-1 (with some solid D ball swings) and a 6ro OH. She also did pretty well in serve receive but a little slow defending
Very curious how KC will use her… great to have depth and I too am hoping he’ll redshirt Schnichles to get some experience under her belt. He could also run a pretty successful 6-2 with Grote and Crowl if he’s comfortable with Mghie’s setting and taking Shaff out. Maybe not exclusively but it’s an option. Kinda fun she’s Marin’s sister too, KC developed her pretty well at WA, maybe he can do the same with her sister at MN

Lydia Grote's sister must have had good things to say about playing for Keegan at Washington. He really seems like a high quality person. Hopefully that kind of thing still matters to recruits and their families.

Geez what a concept for any coach. Again...Duh!

For reference, Steph took 1434 swings her final year, and the Gophers had an Elite 8 appearance while Cal didn't make it to the tourney. I'm sure having more help and better play all around will help her stats (and shoulder).

Does anyone know if we need tickets to the Kansas match at Simpson College?

Hello Gopher faithful!!
For coaching purposes I’m trying to research the 3-middle offense a bit more and I wanted to ask what year was it that Minnesota was running it most effectively?
Feel free to send a YouTube game link my way if you you’re feeling generous 😅

Feel free to send a YouTube game link my way if you you’re feeling generous 😅 I want to say 2015/16, between the Tapps and Lohman. Idk about "most effectively" since that's the only time I know, and it was also when I started vaguely following the Gophers, so I have nothing else to go off of. I'm not sure if the following show it in action best, but they are full matches. Those squads 😮💨 but don't miss the yellow jerseys lol 2015 (all I could find as far as full matches go, the Texas semifinal was split into parts): 2016 (for production quality also 2016 B1G was 🔥):
