I honestly don't think UK has the scholarships available to pickup an OH in the portal. I'd like to think otherwise, but I don't think the money is there. They have a large 5 person freshman class who all could be on some amount of scholarship, and I'd bet Tealer was given one for her fifth year.
You really only need one OH that can pass to run the 6-2. DeLeye could potentially be that six rotation OH and run a DS for Lamb or Melby.
I think Skinner will decide early on wether they are running a 6-2 or 5-1 because it is hard to adjust mid year to one or the other. And I think Tealer plays RS if in 6-2 and MB if the 5-1 is ran.
6-2:
S1: Grome
S2: Sarafa
MB: Williams/Bultema
MB: Goetzinger
OPP: Rutherford
OPP: Tealer
L: Beavin
OH: DeLeye (6 rotation)
OH2: Lamb/Melby
DS for OH2: Walker/Whitworth

So, 12 girls on full scholarship. No partials. Either you’re on, or you’re not. |

Interesting pick up. Just going by her stats, seems like she’s had a really good first two season in the big 12. I’m guessing Skinner is expecting someone to transfer out with this move.

Question… (This might need to be put in the dumb volleyball question thread) If you took these laymen’s terms of describing players passing abilities at the D1 level… Elite Great Good Above Average Average Below Average Poor Very Poor In your opinion, what would be the corresponding numbers to go along with each one of them? Ex. Very Poor = 1.80 and below GP% 40 and below Elite = __ and above GP% __ and above Average = Between __ & __ So in a so forth… |
