Seriously wonder if half (or all?) of the team has the flu? Izzy, Julia, Carter and even Sarah just don't look right tonight. Madi Skinner will do that. Is it time to start the Badger 2024 thread? Already done, my friend.

Obviously a disappointing ending. It was a great season, congratulations to the whole team. Countdown to the next season starts now and I'm excited to see what we can do with a new setter and a new system. This team has given me so much joy, and I truly believe we have a gem of a program, and I am grateful for that.

Before tonight, the worst set losses were a 15 to Florida and a 16 to Purdue (first match, with Smrek in the lineup).

I'm not hating on any Badgers; they've given us many great moments this year. But, I will say this.
It is time for some new faces. There was no viable Plan B for this team; not enough players who could come off the the bench to right the ship and not enough players on the floor who could play their best when the lights were the brightest. That will be the legacy of the Ashburn - Hammill era.

TTA hit well tonight as well. Had one mis hit in the first set, but she had 9 kills at .280 and had some missiles dug by Halter that didn't lead to great transition opportunities.

Actually, In the first set, they clawed back, I think, five points on serve to tie the set. The 3rd and 4th, they tried to do too much, and it snowballed. Yes, losing like that first set is OK. Losing the last 2 sets like that is not. We haven't been pushed like that all year and it's clear we completely didn't know to respond and Kelly failed to push the right buttons. I'm just not a fan of 'grand pronouncements'. Tonight sucked. But it doesn't negate the whole season. And other than bringing in Boyer, what buttons does Kelly have to push? When everybody is having a bad night, there is no full reset or reboot.

Why? I would think Devyn is the penciled in starter at MB because we can't live with a non-offensive MB like CC in a 5-1. Just a feeling, but still see her future for the US as a middle. Yeah, her future internationally is definitely in the middle. Nothing against you, but I hope you're wrong because it will crush me to see Devyn in a different jersey. Also, as I stated, we won't be able to survive with CC being a non-factor on offense in a 5-1.

For me, Dev is Wisconsin Volleyball so I hope she’s back in the middle so we can recreate some 2021 magic.

I mean...when everyone (besides Smrek) is having a bad night, I feel like it kinda falls on the coaching staff. It obviously doesn't negate the enire season; getting to the F4 is always worth a celebration, but I guess I'm just frustrated the same problems that was our undoing last year: SR and setting, reared their ugly heads once again when the lights are bright.

Izzy is the winningest player in Badger VB history and MJ has been around this program for a decade. I’m bummed that we didn’t win the Nat’l Championship in those years but these last two years have been totally awesome.

It seems like every year we have at least one player completely unavailable due to injury; this year we had two, wheee! I'm guessing we could have really used Damrow this year. And I just feel bad for Ella, like she's never going to see the floor.
