I mean if its a program bigger or with better resources it makes sense. but UW isn't that. The longer he stays at Pitt, the more it becomes that bigger/well resourced program. well yea. But he's still going to be a name at the top openings. Pitt can be there, but they're not yet

I mean if its a program bigger or with better resources it makes sense. but UW isn't that. it seems like he’s well on his way to making pitt volleyball an elite program. He was 1 point away from this being his 3rd straight final four appearance. Thisss Acc is on the rise and i don’t think people understand the talent pitt has coming in next year with a new facility is insane. Fairbanks will finally be running a 5-1, as she should. They’re going to have even MORE success in a few years. Why leave all that ?

Plus key returners like Klika, Dalton, Fairbanks, etc

And not to cause drama or anything, but I do include Minnesota in that current misconception.

THIS!!! Literally like Fisher has been brought up in the conversation for basically every big head coaching job in the last 3 years. Just because you WANT Fisher to go coach your team doesn’t mean he is going to. I feel like it would take so much to get him to leave because he seems happy at Pitt. Can’t see him wanting to leave a program he built especially one that keeps performing well and is now in their second straight final four!! I mean if its a program bigger or with better resources it makes sense. but UW isn't that. I would say that is a short list of programs. If he thought there was some shortcoming in salary and/or resources, that likely was corrected after he turned Penn State last year. Currently at best, Washington would be a lateral move.

Fairbanks is about have those freshman looking like 1st team all Americans. So excited to watch them next year, especially Stafford and Bayless.

Would it be normal to promote the assistant over the Associate Head Coach-Leslie Gabriel? Yes, that's what happened when Keegan was hired as a head coach. Leslie turned the job down.

Honestly if Pitt can maintain their success in years to come with a great coach like fisher and that class they have coming, they can pass Minnesota real quick. But that’s just my opinion so don’t argue with me y’all. 🫣 Might not be as historic, but more elite.

well yea. But he's still going to be a name at the top openings. Pitt can be there, but they're not yet I mean how long do you think it’ll take ? They could win a title this weekend. I believe his perception of the answer is what's important. Since he reportedly turned down Penn State last year, that seems to indicate that likely Pitt is there in his mind. The challenge may be in the coming years to fight off a lower tier SEC or Big 10 school that is willing to significantly increase its financial investment in the volleyball program to a point that Pitt cannot match.

Btw, in the UW press release, the AD Cohen did not even mention "national search" in her statement. Might be a hint they will just promote Jason Mansfield.
