Not directly related to the winning of the Big 12, but the other day I was wondering about the video shots they do during the tournament reveal. Since we host Regionals so often, I'm wondering when they say, "And Texas is in the Louisville regional" if there will be just polite clapping in the video they show of us? Truthfully, I wish they skip us this year. Actually, thinking about it, it's usually subdued when we get announced as hosting the regional anyway - we're so used to it.
But this year, no jumping up and hugging and crying. Just down to business.
EDIT: But even in the years we hosted Regional no jumping, hugging, crying. I think we're a bit spoiled.
It’s like the baseball team. No dogpiling unless they win the championship.

I can’t decide if I want Texas to come to Lincoln or not. I would love to see the reaction Akana would get. I also would like to see O’Neal and Skinner in person! Also, Texas coming to town definitely would amp up the crowd even more. But just like and Nebraska did to UT in 2021, I don’t know if I want to see a UT team that puts it all together in the elite eight. But also this Husker team is different and they just grind it out. Anyways, I don’t think Texas would slide to 8/9, unless they lose to ISU. And of course both teams would then need to make it to elite eight. Thank you for letting me word vomit on your thread lol.

I don't think that this Texas team has what it takes to upset the fab freshmen--granted, I thought the same thing about Nebraska in 2021. It's a great rivalry, anything can happen.

Yea playing arguably our biggest (if not second biggest) rival in the elite eight as the favorite scares me lol. Anything can happen. Makes losing worse but winning better.

It’s like the baseball team. No dogpiling unless they win the championship. IIRC they usually only do live shots for teams that aren't sure if they make the tournament., so they can get happy / ecstatic reactions. For "known" teams they do clip footage - IIRC last year, the footage they showed for Texas wasn't even our team lol

Speaking for myself - you're welcome to post here - so is everyone else, as long as they aren't here to troll or start a stupid fight

Nebraska fans supporting Nebraska is going to be 1000% louder than Nebraska fans supporting Louisville. Also, in terms of mental toughness, this team is not as bulletproof as last year's. No shade, it's just true

Plus maybe the committee decides they like bracketing the matchup regardless. But I’d be excited for a Nebraska/Texas matchup in Lincoln. I was rooting for a Texas v Nebraska matchup in Omaha last year. The handshakes would be all kinds of fun!

You mean the handshakes between coaches? The players are pretty friendly I think, they all know each other from club, USNTP, Under-Armour, what have you. I don't want to play Nebraska (unless it's the championship, lol) just because I like hanging out on VT and I don't want it to explode into a massive %*$#show between their fans and ours

So this is the Bracketology 11/2 predicted by TrojanSC on another thread, I don't hate it:

(4) Florida vs. FGCU South Alabama vs. (5) Purdue*
(2) Texas vs. Texas A&M Corpus-Christi Texas State vs. (7) SMU

tbh at this point, plz send us to Lincoln. I think the pressure of playing a higher seed will allow the girls to relax a bit, which won't necessarily correlate to a win, but at least they can play a bit more freely than if they were playing a lower seeded team.
How sweet would it be after 2021?
