iirc she was recruited as an OH. I think she’s like 6’-6’1 but I could be mistaken not quite, closer to 5'10 - 5'11 probably. Nothing new for Louisville, I think the tallest out the six OHs on their roster for 2024 is like 6ft Louisville and DBK should be a top choice for any undersized pin. I wonder if she continues that recruiting strategy since it’s worked for her when she takes over at Nebraska? I’m just idly curious. Who knows when that happens. But it is interesting to me that Louisville has transformed themselves into a powerhouse without really throwing their hat in the ring in going after taller pins.

To me the short and sweet reason would be he enjoys working with Elliott, his salary is commensurate with a lot of head coaching positios, and his kids get to grow up in the same area rather than moving around a ton. Not the weather. You missed the point. My post was mainly about why he might have come to Texas in the first place; not why he has stayed so long (other than I'm surprised at his tenure). I was told that his wife was NOT a fan of Lincoln at all (also a California girl) and that they were looking to leave as soon as they could.

They probably knew they wouldn't win that recruiting battle so decided to go after the super athletic undersized pins.

I think it might have to do with the way she wants her OHs to play that just ends up correlating to smaller players. She seems like to them to be super mobile, fast, with a little extra athleticism and bounce to work with. Ava utterback is another OH commit in the 2024 class with petersen and she is basically a reincarnation of debeer - although I think she's better than debeer was at this time. they will make a really good OH duo after debeer and luper leave

I mean, I don’t toss and turn at night running the scenario through my head. I’m just interested in seeing how it works out. But there’s no question her overall program vision for Louisville has been executed lights out.

It's not like Texas had won a national title prior to his arrival in 2011 under Elliott. Texas had made huge strides in catching up to Nebraska. But, Nebraska's recent success was still more than Texas'. So, he didn't leave for the program's lack of success. And, it's not like cost of living is less expensive in Austin than Lincoln. And, I doubt Texas outbid Nebraska for his services. It is logical that geography, weather, and lifestyle were the driving forces in his move to Texas.

are we locked in for tomorrow? i feel like we all need to lock it up more It's all about shutting down Nayeli Gonzales, right? I peeked at their season stats and she has 100+ more kills on the season over the other OH, Maya Duckworth. The offense is very OH heavy. Oh and not hitting at Brooke Stonestreet. Everyone's been talking about Makenzie Morris at K State, but Stonestreet's very good at 4.3 digs/set
