I like Dustin Watten's comment,"Volleyball needs more Texas social media".

Here’s my take from the game: -no need to diss Stanford attendance. Their fans showed up. Texas fans were big in one section right behind the bench, but it was all cardinal in a pretty packed gym. Not sure how it looked on TV. The only really empty sections were really high up, so yeah if you compare it to Gregory or other gyms it appears empty -that said, a much older subdued crowd. Even when Stanford was playing lights out. Like I’m sorry to Baird… getting an absolutely smashing kill only to hear a golf clap. Meanwhile jenna so much as doesn’t hit into the block and Texas section was all on its feet like we won an Olympic gold. Every point. ETA: we had Texas fans directly in front of us, and were all being super gracious on points stanford won. I have my gripes with the couple sitting next to us, but we were outwardly more supportive of good volleyball, even when it was a Stanford point. -Stanford fans didn’t really interact much. With us or each other. It was sally of southern charm to get anyone to converse with us in the stadium. Obviously much easier at the bars after, but notable. -speaking of jenna, she was much improved. Much much improved. The other girls were very supportive of her, which I love. Regardless of what we think, she’s an integral part of the team. Even when getting madi the ball was the clear assignment, jenna seemed to play with a ton of team spirit. On Thursday, she was visibly frustrated A LOT, this match even when she messed up seemed to recover mentally alot quicker. -in case anyone is wondering, during the long time outs, Devin does caucus with the outsides, not the opps. -I’ve been right about Stanford all year, and even last year. They are an incredible club, but they really don’t play with any kind of passion. Even when they were mounting their comeback, it was just business as usual. Texas was definitely the emotional team on the court. By a mile. -the couple sitting next to me and and volleybae(ish) kept holding their ears closed. Sorry folks. Not sorry. -Hambly is hot. Simply put. I almost questioned my loyalty, and would have had he responded to my Grindr message to meet up in the family restroom. -ditto lines guys. Call me! -I’ve never seen Elena in person, but she is a firecracker. And not particularly friendly on the bench. And when she’d come out for her one rotation, was kind of a towel snatcher… and sat with coaches not the team. Kind of an huh moment. -two Stanford guys came from the student section to talk to jermaine and fan out. Multiple people sitting near us commented how tacky it was. Including the Stanford crowd near us. They returned with a poster. Jermaine was super gracious. And standing smiling a lot more than I’ve seen on TV. -speaking of Stanford crowds, multiple fanned all the way out on Asjia and told us she was their favorite. Multiple different people said this. There was also an audible calmness when she went up to kill. A whole gym gasp almost. Some of her kills were just ungodly -same can be said when Barnes, halter, and Akana were serving. There were a few players who had the same effect from Tennessee but I forget the names. Two A names that sound the same. Anyway. -fans were PISSED about Stanford serving, and openly cursing Hambly. They were not having it. -Ella was limping and gimping and the good sis still set us up! Good for her. Did I want her to find Molly more? Sure. But Molly doesn’t need 10 kills and 30 attempts. She just is needs us, her subjects. Queen. Her parents heard me call her that multiple times with my entire chest. Rodney, please tell her her #1 fans were there. -Texas played like national champs for 3.5 sets. Which is enough. Once we were leading in set 4, it felt inevitable, even when Stanford closed the gap. -one of you out there saw me and volleybae having the time of our lives. you know who you are! Thanks for saying hi. We cute though right? We’ll see if he’s still around for next season, but this feels like an ‘annual trip’ kind of thing. Just can’t give up this experience! So much fun! We made the flex cam and were spotted on tv a couple by friends at home. Doing our part! Hook ‘em!

Every point. felt the same way I love a teammate like jenna, which is more important than loving a player like jenna. That’s all I’m gonna say. Not adding to that discourse.

We know that the team and coaches read up on VT and they know our frustration with Jenna. You have to give both coaches and Jenna credit that they're actively working the problem during the tournament. It's gotta be stressful and painful to be that athlete where everyone pins blame on - me included. So, sorry Jenna.
When I saw this hug, I knew it had greater significance than just a coach and a player having a victory hug. He kept believing in her potential and she didn't go into a shell with all the criticism being heaped onto her.
My daughter is going to college in Dallas and when we watch Texas games together we call each other and watch the same stream and comment about the game to each other (which is ironic because when we're at the games together in Gregory we don't talk as much so that others can enjoy their time watching the team). During one of Jenna's tips/sets/passes/lobs over the net my daughter was saying "Ugh, why did she do that?" I said, "Caused she's been coached not to hit straight into the block and that's the best she could do right then"

i believe this will be the 3rd final four appearance for akana, o'neal, phillips & skinner (& of course heinrich)
it would be awesome if texas has back to back npoy🤞 from none to two
i'm aware other teams have players with 3× final four appearances

Player by Player breakdown on season performance:
Skinner>Rubin Baird>Wenaas Kipp>>Phillips (Molly is a great player, but just different leagues of impact with how they’re utilized)
Miner>Swindle (injured and a Freshman, no surprises there)
Asjia>>Francis Bergmark>Vicini (I think? I don’t notice Vicini out there really)
Oglevie>Halter (<3 my Baby Spice, but on the season I thought Oglevie was better)
Akana, Barnes, and Pringle are the odd women out since there’s no equivalent on the other team
Based on this extremely scientific analysis, Stanford has one more > than Texas
How do Texas’ players match up with Wisconsin’s? Will be a little harder to match them up with the 6-2
