First RPI out and there are quite a few surprises, notably Missouri and Mississippi St currently well within the tournament bid range and Georgia sitting very far outside. Florida - 6 Arkansas - 11 Tennessee - 13 Texas AM - 25 Missouri - 29 Auburn - 35 Mississippi St - 36 Kentucky - 44 LSU - 59 South Carolina - 73 Georgia - 90 Ole Miss - 117 Alabama - 195 Miss St. is a huge surprise to me. I don't know where their ceiling is. Competitive 4 set loss to LSU in which they won the first, had a 21-16 lead in the second and gave it up. They have 7 matches against top 50's, plus LSU again and UGA twice, which is probably the critical series for them. I also think Ole Miss is a tough our for them with Ratliff back and playing well.

Tennessee’s title to lose at this point? Statistically speaking, they're pretty ridiculous. First in the SEC in 5/7 statistical categories. And those 5 being the most important for winning matches. H%, Opp H%, Kills, Asst, Aces. But maybe Alabama has the secret sauce with em tomorrow night!

Tennessee’s title to lose at this point? I don't think enough people are talking about Arkansas either. I see no huge reason Tennessee deserves the nod over Arkansas at this point in conference play. I think Tennessee might be a bit better but Arkansas certainly has the fight in them to take it or a share.

The Oct 20th matchup between Tenn and Ark should be the SEC game of the year likely. It is at Tennessee. Interested to see if Fingall will slow down Gillen and Head. The massive Wisconsin block wasn't able to do so extremely well. Also an interesting matchups of two underrated setters.

Advantages for Tennessee - more well-rounded offense (i.e., more options from the middles), better blocking, dominant hitter (Finghall) Advantages for Arkansas - more experienced pins, better ball control/floor defense Pick 'em.

More experienced pins? UT has 2 5th years including an AA and a very experienced 6RO 3rd year.

Arkansas remaining schedule has UK x2, UF x2 and of course UT. UT already beat UK in 3, have UF and UK again. And it also seems like every year in the SEC there’s one really odd upset. . Usually delivered by South Carolina.

They had their struggles in the past on the road and they have quite a stretch of road matches later this month. Tennessee is legit-definitely a strong contender. I still don’t rule out Florida and Kentucky. They have both shown a lot of great moments. Lots of ball to be played. It’ll be fun to watch it unfold.
