by the time next weekend comes around Arkansas would have played 6 of their 9 home conference matches.... gonna be a tough ending playing 7 of the next 8 on the road (including a stretch of 5 straight) FRI OCT 20 @ Tennessee SUN OCT 22 @ Kentucky FRI OCT 27 @ South Carolina SUN OCT 29 @ Florida WED NOV 1 @ Georgia Such an odd schedule for the Hogs. 6 of their first 7 at home, then 6 of their next 7 away. What is a scheduling committee doing at this point? And it should have been so much easier to schedule this year with no Saturday matches, so you don’t have the headache of trying to avoid home conflicts with football.

Once you add travel, that sure is a lot of time away from home/school. Maybe other schedules are bad, too, but when I see it in front of me like this, all I can think is "YIKES, how did that happen?" I feel kind of dumb asking this but is it the AD that schedules matches, the conference, coaches, or who? You referred to a committee, so I assume it is set by a group. I am just not familiar with that process. I'd rather play my team keep with the two matches vs the same team in a weekend than have to travel like this.

The conference schedules the conference matches. I’m sure each team has some input when they don’t want matches. Hopefully Arkansas charters flights for their team. I bet they do. Trying to go commercial out of Fayetteville and back would not be fun. But if they charter the flights it wouldn’t be bad. Next year the other 3 power conferences will have some silly travel involved. And a lot of those schools can’t afford charter flights for their teams. I hate the two matches versus the same team for competitive purposes. A very good BYU team had to play Texas twice in Austin this past weekend and lost both of them. That result might very well have been a split with a home and home. Now the conference race is practically over. It’s not always that stark of a result, but it can be. I guess we’ll see how the conference plays it next year, but I really hope they keep the single match per visit format.

It sure is interesting to look at some teams' schedules vs other teams.

"Odd" - it's also "odd" that the Hogs have had two matches vs. BOTH Florida and Kentucky for FOUR consecutive years, and Florida for FIVE. Odd. #conspiracytheory #tinfoilhat

is Tennessee the Georgia this season? Only against Florida/Arkansas/Auburn once? I believe they get Kentucky twice but is that it?

Don't look now, but through 5 games of SEC play Brooklyn DeLeye is hitting 92-22-210 .333, leading the conference at 4.6 kps

Odd. #conspiracytheory #tinfoilhat This is good for the Hogs. You'd rather that than Alabama. Not if you want to have a (better) chance to win the conference championship. The unbalanced SEC schedule has been the undoing of a few coaches over the past several years. Life isn’t fair and neither is the SEC schedule. If you are in the bottom half, you cross your fingers that the scheduling gods give you a break so you can keep your job another year.
