Did I miss anything last night? My recap would be -Dawn Sullivan has her team playing way above talent level. If Watson and Watt’s teams weren’t so good this year, Sullivan would be a no brainer for COY. Her team is gonna win way more matches than her roster should allow. -TAMU was not playing at Arkansas so Lednicky hit a pedestrian .088 and Florida’s lefts went off. -Kentucky with Rutherford playing well is a buzzsaw -Arkansas’ mighty mites put on a pass, dig, convert clinic against Tennessee.

Did I miss anything last night? My recap would be -Dawn Sullivan is 2-0 against dudes who think they’re a better coach than she is (one of whom said so to every single podcast that would hand him a mic). What’s this drama about Sullivan being 2-0 against dudes who they’re a better coach than she she is? Say their names

What’s this drama about Sullivan being 2-0 against dudes who they’re a better coach than she she is? Say their names O! No real drama. Jaime Morrison is quoted multiple times saying he’s the best coach and they have the best staff in the SEC/country and then with a much more talented roster, lost to Mizzou. I just assume Brett thinks he’s a better coach. But I’m not aware of him claiming himself as such. So I shouldn’t have put him in there. Did Morrison really say he's the best coach? Versus "we have the best coaching staff" or something like that?

Yeah, I think I’ve listened to all his interviews and not heard anything like that said - just the run of the mill “I’ve got a great staff” stuff. Of course he is going to market himself and his staff as he is trying to turn around a program but I’ve never heard him compare himself or his staff to anyone else in the SEC.
How about a quote or point to a podcast? From what i have heard, Morrison was very complimentary of Sullivan - talked about her by name as an example of the great coaches in the SEC in the press conferences before and after the match.
There seem to be Morrison critics on the boards and I’ve never really understood it.

I'm sorry to have misrepresented him with out the link available. The far more important point was that Dawn Sullivan has been pretty special coaching that team.

Couldn’t agree more with that point. They’ve done a great job so far at Mizzou.

SEC seems to be a three team race now. Kentucky 8-1 (Florida x 2, Arkansas x 1, and A&M x 1 remaining) Arkansas 8-1 (Florida x 2, Kentucky x 1 remaining) Tennessee 7-2 (Florida x 1, A&M x 1 remaining)
Really could be anyone’s to take. Kentucky with the toughest remaining schedule, Tennessee with the easiest but has no breathing room.
And poor Florida. They will likely be the underdog in all five of those matches against the top three and already sitting with 3 SEC losses.

A&M got swept by Georgia today, increasing the separation between UK/Arky/UT and the rest.
I actually think Florida matches up the best with Tennessee, but you still have to favor the Vols. Idk, maybe we're heading towards a three-way tie for SEC Champion!

SEC RPI futures rankings (numbers derived from vballfan17) as of 10/23 (in conference standings order):
Arkansas (8) Kentucky (11) Tennessee (12) Florida (13) Texas A&M (27) Auburn (34) Missouri (39) Georgia (57) LSU (76) Mississippi St (72) South Carolina (107) Ole Miss (156) Alabama (201)
Are Missouri, Georgia, Mississippi St, and LSU the possible bubble teams from this conference?
EDIT: Including Mississippi St as a possible bubble team. I forgot about their win over Florida.

How are my LSU peeps feeling about Year 2 of Coach Johnson? I know there was a ton of excitement about Demps's arrival and talk of conference championships. What do you think is the problem? I have my own, arm's-length theories, but I'm curious about what actual LSU followers/fans think. Unfortunately all aspects are lacking compared to last year. With hitting, other than Robinson and Anwusi, everyone has been pretty disappointing. I don’t understand the slump that Dotson is in this season. She was pre-season All SEC for a reason, but unfortunately for her she can’t figure it out when she shares the court with Robinson. Her best game this season where she looked like herself was when Jurnee was taken out due to too many attacking errors. Demps has also been a major let down, and as someone had already mentioned, Echter has outperformed her at RS and has taken the position. Serving is a travesty. Way too many service errors match after match. Waak in my opinion is not a setter that can lead a team far into the post-season. I was hoping that Rome would take the role but I guess she’s injured? I think TJ’s biggest mistake in the off-season was not picking up a higher level setter out of the transfer portal. Mitter is not an elite level setter and I think they put all of their eggs in the basket trying to fill in the holes in the first session of the transfer portal, when there were some higher level setters that entered in the second session. Biggest blow to their performance though is without a doubt the passing. With Larkin deciding to only pursue beach and Bohnet not opting in for her fifth year, they completely lost their entire defense from last season. Anderson has promise but needs a lot more time to train, as again, she was not brought in as a libero. Carmichael is better fit as just a DS in the SEC but has the libero experience at Jacksonville State which TJ needed to fill that void knowing Larkin wasn’t continuing. I wish they would give Hemmings more playing time and not just for serving. Overall I’m disappointed with how this season is going as I honestly thought before the season and finding out Larkin wasn’t apart of the squad, we had a chance to perform how Tennessee, Arkansas or Auburn are performing. I agree that TJ needs to rebuild this program from the ground up, and she has some prominent players coming in next season as freshmen, but I think she needs to scrap some of the current players that will probably never see high level of playing time, and hit the portal heavy. I really hope that Jurnee is bought in and doesn’t bail after one season, but I worry with NIL and how much attention she’s getting that she doesn’t try to become an even bigger name at another top program.

EDIT: Including Mississippi St as a possible bubble team. I forgot about their win over Florida. If we’re being honest, LSU and Miss St aren’t bubble teams. They need to really go on a tear to have a shot at making it. Georgia also needs a bit of a push to make it in but it’s on the table and they have opportunities. If conference play ended today, Missouri likely would be in and Georgia would be out. Luckily for entertainment purposes, UGA and Mizzou play each other twice to come. Georgia certainly has the talent and staff to find themselves on the right side of the bubble. I think 7 teams is what we will probably get from the SEC, 8 is possible, but could be 6 if both Missouri and Georgia are to collapse. Locks: Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Texas A&M Likely in: Auburn Right side of the bubble: Missouri Wrong side of the bubble: Georgia
