Yeah, totally not cool. No ulterior motives there… The committee really bungled this. Put Pitt/Louisville together and also have Wisconsin, Penn St, and Purdue in the same region. I think they need to start being more mindful of spreading out conference opponents. The fans are excited to see new match ups, not a continuation of conference play. As a reference. If you look at the Men’s Basketball Bracket from 2022. Not a SINGLE planned meetup of top 4 seeds from the same conference in any corner of the bracket.

The top three teams on the top 4 lines in the Men's bracket cannot be in the same bracket. Volleyball appears to just be straight seeding.

The only SEC teams that didn't play to seed were Auburn and Florida, and ... there is a completely reasonable argument that late-season UF didn't deserve a 4 seed. Despite their seeding, Auburn wasn't a Pablo favorite against WMU, but that was probably the worst performance by an SEC team in this post-season. The Tigers of the Plains looked pretty toothless, which they were prone to do all season. UGA got thumped by ASU, but then ASU turned around and thumped host BYU. TAMU got a set off Texas, Mizzou played Nebraska fairly well.
Not bad. There'll be at least one SEC team in the E8, as well. Anyone think that the Lady Vols can win the battle of the oranges?

Tennessee definitely can be Texas. Texas is vulnerable. If not for Asjia Oneal’s best match of the entire season, TAMU probably could have beaten them the other day. Otherwise, I wish Arkansas and Kentucky weren’t on the same side. I want to see Arkansas play other conferences and see how they stack up. I hate getting all of these intra-conference re-matches in the tournament.

Madi had 18 kills and 4 errors after set 1 too. don’t let that first set fool you!😭

Is there any word on if Rutherford is using her Covid year at Kentucky next year? Would be nice to know if this is her final run with UK. She is featured in the senior sendoff video just posted and was honored on senior night. Tealer was also honored on senior night last year so doesn’t necessarily mean she’s moving on.

Really hoping Rutherford and Goetzinger both use their covid year and return to Kentucky next year, but probably wishful thinking since they both went through senior day.

Tealer went through senior day last year too. Wouldn't say that's what makes it wishful thinking.
With zero actual insight into scholarships, who is who I would assume is on scholarship next year:
FR: Benjamin, Thigpen SO: Sarafa, Dailey, Bultema, Deleye, Tuozzo JR: Melby, Williams SR: Wilson, Grome, Lamb, Jenkins
Even if Whitworth and Beavin aren't on scholarship next year, and barring any transfers out, that only leaves 1 spot. So I doubt both can come back.

I don't think Melby or Jenkins are on scholly and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a transfer or two out. If either Rutherford or Goetz want to return you make room lol.

You're right, seems like Melby isn't on scholarship. I guess it's likely Jenkins isn't, agreed. But again, this is assuming Beavin and Whitworth aren't either.
They might have room with such a small 2024 class. But I'd be surprised if both come back.

Thigpen's dad has been a Power 5 defensive coordinator for 2 decades, which makes me think she might not be on a full ride. They could definitely afford a year or two at UK, at the very least. With that said, I kinda hate speculating on scholarships since at the end of the day I know nothing. All I know is we definitely will not be going into next year with only 2 middles, whether either of Rebo/Goetzinger come back or not.
