Totally spitballing here since we haven't heard much. Do we think Megan Pendergast might be considered? She's currently jobless and maybe she wants to head back to her alma mater, but some here think they might be after a females. She spent four years at Tulsa and four years at UCLA, where she recruited Fleck and élan McCall. She's from Texas, where she finished her career at A&M, and has spent four years recruiting and building connections in California. Uh, Megan did not recruit Fleck and McCall, Keller did. And, to be honest, she hasn't built many connections in SoCal, despite her time here. If she is the new HC at Michigan, I don't think that bodes well for their program. She did however establish a connection with the VT community on high alert for her Instagram activity during transfer season 😂

When Megan Pendergast came to Nebraska she was a fan favorite with her high toss power serve. . .she played intermittently as a DS during her two seasons as Banwarth was the L. Laura Dystra was signed to replace Banwarth so Pendergast transferred to TA&M where she was the L for two years.
She has been an assistant at Tulsa, Oklahoma and UCLA… I believe she gets along with recruits and works tirelessly, but is that enough? I’m not sure that qualifies her to take a B1G job like Michigan, but given their lack of facilities who else would take it? We’ll see how it goes. . .

I even used Google and I’m still having a hard time figuring out who Megan Pendergast is. This is not the insult you think it is. It wasn’t an insult…

Ok but actually, how did I never return to this! Is somebody about to announce a new coach at the same time as a resignation or retirement is announced? NC? So funny you say that. I just asked the Tarheel faithful in their thread because there is confusion as to why they haven’t posted for a new AC yet. I also know there was some chatter about the Houks and a connection to NC in the Minnesota thread, although that connection was Sagula and Shaffmaster’s little sis. Edit: IMO, assuming it's not somebody getting hired away for the Michigan gig (left off all teams with HCs that have been there 3 years or less and coaches that have recently been extended. Also did not factor in any teams with large transfer numbers/murmors of culture problems): - Possible: Arizona/Kansas/North Carolina {close to retirement?/maybe partially results for AZ and UNC}, Texas Tech
- Probably Should: Cal {can't afford a buy out?}, Duke {questionable admin investment?}

Looks like Michigan will be the last P5 to sign a head coach. They still can be among the fastest though. P5 (post-season) Openings:Michigan: 9 days P5s Filled:Oklahoma/Washington: 14 days UCLA*: 18 days (surely delayed by San Diego being in the F4 and ACs have been named) Missouri: 21 days Texas A&M/ASU: 25 days K State: 30 days Oregon State: 37 days I can't believe it's only been 9 days. It feels like six weeks. I made I semi-joke on the ASU hiring thread about Michigan not hiring a coach yet. Will today, day 15, be the day?

I did some digging and my sources tell me no. But that was with some major digging. And if Harbaugh decides to leave the search will be put on hold for even longer.

I feel like Michigan is going to look less and less attractive the longer it's open. The quality of kids in the portal could spike upward a little with spring semesters getting under way and the May window, but they're missing crucial time right now.

Classes resumed today, so maybe things will transpire this week and they won't be too far behind in the grand scheme of things. Getting the right coach is more important than getting one quickly. But even the right coach could struggle mightily if they don't get it done soon.

Why would Harbaugh leaving have any impact? If Harbaugh leaves the AD will be in the lead finding his successor. The AD is not running the volleyball search.

Who is leading the Michigan search for a head volleyball coach? If it's like ASU, it would be the sports administrators.

I'd bet if Harbaugh leaves before they name a coach, then the remaining time would actually get shorter. They'd rush through it and get someone in place quick so they can devote all resources to the FB coach search and attendant PR/media blitz. They'll care less about finding the best coach if a FB search is onging.
