I would think stong recruiting ties to the Michigan area will be a must. There are a ton of great clubs in MI and surrounding areas, so this late in the game established relationships will be important. (I don't expect an AD to take that into consideration). I would think similar credentials to the Minnesota asst role. Knows the B1G, has establsihed credibility and can hit the ground running w/ recruiting/portal.
Michigan should be a top job, but it never got over the hump to be one. It's time for someone to take this to the next level. Excited to see who takes the helm.

My wish list as a diehard Michigan fan: Kelli Miller Phillips Brittany Dildine Erin Virtue Would have to think KMP is the most attainable, given UM's current commitment to VB (primarily salary & facilities). Even at the previous poor salary it'd still be 2x what she makes at BSU. Not that money is everything, but it definitely talks. I wish this coaching search would get the same publicity that a major program would get. If the likes of Dildine and Reyes and Nelson are coming to AA to interview it means they at least believe somewhat in what Michigan Volleyball could be. It's very easy to get negative on where the program stands in the B1G and within the ranks of UM itself. My short list is similar: Erin Virtue Kelli Miller Phillips Rob Beam I don't think we are going to get a big name assistant unless the program really ramps up the salary and facility offerings. Rob isn’t coaching anymore. KMP is a life-long Indiana resident. I like the thought of Meske, Dildine, or Anders Nelson. All three have lots of experience.

Hmmmm, Erin??? Would she leave her USA gig?? She had a nice run as an AC at Michigan for 5 years, including their 2012 Final 4 appearance. She proved to be an excellent recruiter, knows the program well and helped recruit some of its current roster. I don't know if she has any interest in leaving the WNT, but I think she would be a good fit.

Plus, Michigan is right there (3+ hours from Muncie to AA). If she wants to remain close to family/friends, it's not like she'd be moving to Panama.

Danijela Tomic has also done an excellent job right down the road at Bowling Green.

Rob is still running club and coaching clinics (with fellow retiree Cathy George), he retired less than a year ago. I'm not sure if he wants to be fully back in the game either but this job could be enticing. I agree on KMP, would love to see her here but that's a long shot. If Meske, Dildine or Nelson jump on board that means the administration is taking this hiring seriously. I'm hopeful, but cautious about the commitment.

Erin left U of M after the 2015 season to head to Northwestern, did she really help recruit any of the current roster as that was 7 years ago.

This is hipsterfilth calling I applied and they responded with "The successful candidate will have experience." Offensive. Do they not know about VT?

I sat next to her in a gym for an 8th grade CYO championship game that Jess Mruzik played in!

What about Ryan Theis? I could see him making the jump to the big ten. I wondered about him, too. He's been at Marquette a while. May be his time to move up? Theis just signed a contract extension that takes him to 2028 with Marquette. Hands Off! 😄

Jason Oliver could be a fit. Had success at High Point. Got B1G experience at Indiana with Dunbar. Turned a woeful Toledo program into a MAC contender fairly quick.

I find it interesting that the candidates mentioned are levels down from other top jobs. If Michigan is all in, it’s a job they could land a big boy.
