Anyone get a chance to watch any of the MSU spring matches yet? I’m curious how the team is doing so far with a full year under the new staff.

Here’s my guess for next year’s starting lineup. There seems to be a lot more depth than last year (except at the middle). The asterisks are postitions that I think are a lock. I see MSU running a 6-2.
Setter: Bishop* and Muisinga Middle: Okur* and McArthur* L: Iosia* OH: Moore* and Staniszewska* Opp: O’Gorman* and Aslayan
I’m calling it now that Okur is going to be a force for MSU this year. I don’t know much about Staniszewska for she is coming in with a lot of accolades and the staff has been hyping her up. Doezma is left out of this lineup but I could see her stepping in for Aslayan. I don’t know if she has played opposite much though.

As someone who was VERY critical of her at Texas, Iosia looks GOOD for MSU this fall. But I also said the same thing about Cox after her junior season and look how that turned out. Fingers crossed!

What will the setting look like? Big loss there.

Won a state title as a middle and I believe 1 or 2 as an OH. I have ALWAYS thought she would be a superb right side. I thought switching her and O'Gorman on the pins despite having a lefty on the left would be a really good duo.

What will the setting look like? Big loss there. Big loss in what way? Bishop is more than capable and if you do some research, she was CRITICAL in the upset match against Purdue as a frosh. Not to mention Muisenga is another top rated recruit as well. The two are ballers. Not a loss at all, just a passing of the torch to either one.

I think anytime you lose a senior who had prior all conference accolades, there is a loss.

MSU posted some videos on their Instagram of their spring match this past weekend and it showed Doezema playing on the right side so maybe you are on to something.

Unless she takes a giant leap forward, she won't be in the lineup next season.

Anyone in Grand Rapids today to watch the Spartans? Especially interested in how they will do against Michigan this evening.
