Anyone at the spring match against Western Michigan or U of M today? Would love to hear how MSU did today.

Played well and swept Western. Not as sharp against Michigan and lost 3-1 I think it was. Doezema was playing in the middle with Kulig - no Mia Hood today. Thought both Holdem and Preston looked good. Once Courtley gets there they should have a pretty solid group of hitters this year. Iosia solid as always. All three setters got opportunities so that should be an interesting competition in the summer.

You’ve got to give it up to Johnson and staff for their offseason recruiting. Getting Akansha Anderson from Auburn is a pretty big pickup. MSU will have a ton of talent on the outside. The list below is where I see their depth chart right now on the outside, with Moore and Preston tied up. I really hope Moore stays in the lineup; she’s undersized but one of my favorite players to watch because of her speed and hops. MSU will no doubt stick with the 6-2 so four of these will crack the lineup.
Holdem Courtley Preston Moore Kelly Stanizewska
It looks like Doezma played in the middle in the spring matches so I see her continuing there this season. I’m excited to see what MSU can do this fall!

With all the moving-out and moving-in going in at Michigan State, and the hype I’m reading on Sparty’s social; I believe MSU should finish in the upper half of the league despite their 13-27 record the past two seasons. How does Jake put a line-up together with all his LS attackers?

Mia Hood is unproven and I think Kulig has a ton of potential, but if they had a Garvelink-type player MSU could be a contender. Right now I still think they will upset some big names but probably still have some bad losses.

You think MSU is going to finish 8th or higher in the Big 10 next year? hmmmm that would be quite the accomplishment, given how much depth and experience there is returning to the league.

I'm sure Jake and Leah have a plan and they definitely did well to recruit solid options on the left. I think Akasha easily slides into the starting OH1 slot the OH2 slot is a toss-up between Courtley and Preston. But who tf is gonna slide into the opposite slot when you need 2 in the 6-2? Kelly and Stanizewska each had moments last year but clearly got heavily recruited over. I don't see either of them playing much if at all this year. Especially on the right. I figure Moore is a lock as one, but in that 6-2 I feel like we're definitely short one spot. Either Moore and Doezma lock up the opposite slot and leave questions at the middle with Kulig or Hood playing as a true freshman (even top 6/25 recruits are gonna struggle early on).....or you have Doezma play with Okur and leave a question mark behind Moore as the second opp. Maybe Leah has one of these new pins slotted for that but it doesn't feel that way.

Holdem was 2nd Team All-B1G and is a good passer, she's definitely a lock for one of the spots. Agree it'll be a 6-2 since there wasn't a lot of separation at setter between Bishop/Muisenga/Berger last year.
