Word on the street is: an OH from the Northwest. How many !!!!###$$$!!!ing outsides do we need lmao this feels like the Cathy George days when all she did was sign setters and watch them hit the portal 😂 By the time this class hits campus you're looking at only Staniszewska and Holdem who are currently sophomores, any new transfers in, Ormsby (2025) and Formonkova (2025). I think they need a few this class.

Looks like they have another commit for 2026. Word on the street is that she's an OH from the Northeast Mid/Atlantic area.

Not even positive Staniszewska sticks as an OH since they seemed to like her passing at times last year and just played her in the back.

Early thoughts on some of her highlights and brief film I stumbled on: If this girl gets someone who can properly sling the rock to her, it’s gonna look REALLLLLY good. Super quick approach, absolute whip of an arm but has zero interest in bounced balls. Line, hard cross, high hands and deep corners all get mixed up well. Played some middle in 15-1’s and shows solid ball tracking and solid press+recovery/dive back. Absolutely zero evidence she has ever passed a ball in her lifetime….not sure if she’s just that good at SR, or if she’s being faux hidden but want to know more about that. Overall, the quality of the left sides were bringing out of HS seem to be improving. I think McKenna needs some upper body/arm strength development but I can see why Jake and Leah liked what they saw.

Did I miss something? Both of the revealed '26 pickups for MSU look pretty solid. Or is this in response to something else?

I think its in response to the direction overall, but the '26 commits would be great for Western Michigan.

I think its in response to the direction overall, but the '26 commits would be great for Western Michigan. I can certainly appreciate a solid troll or perhaps valid criticism of a program, but I don't understand either point. 1) The direction of the program is certainly not up for debate. Leah inherited a bad team that had its entire program stripped to the studs after Cathy retired. Yet in her first season, with a team of essentially portal scraps, Nalani Iosia and Evie Doezema, they managed to find a way to win the same amount of Big Ten matches they had the season prior with Sarah Franklin. Then in 2023 after more portal scraps and some international recruiting, they won 9 B1G games and were over 500 for the first time since 2019. What about this makes you think the trajectory of the program is in question? 2) As for the quality of the pickups, If I saw correctly, at least 1 of PrepDig/PrepVolleyball has all 3 '26 players within the top 100 players with Madi being ranked #31. That doesn't feel like a program in disarray. Especially after picking up a consensus top 20 and fringe top 100 player for the '24 class. Again I ask where does this indicate any sort of poor trajectory or recruiting miss? I get that MSU isn't really much of a talked about program in the scope of the rest of the B1G, but MSU has pulled off a program rebuild back to where they historically average in like a year and a half. Sure they're fighting it out to be on the right side of the top half of the new B1G than the bottom half.....but acting like Leah/Jake havent put on a masterclass in how to turn around a dying program is patently insane. I expect the bad takes to be in the Nebraska/Texas threads not a random MSU one lol

Also the 2025 class has the setter Kalea Norton from New Zealand.....I haven't seen too much of her but Holdem worked out! Oilvia Durst was highly ranked coming out of Milwaukee Sting. Leela Ormsby is coming out of an area not known as a hotbed for vb talent, but is a NTDP program regular. I don't know much about the Czech Republic signee Formankova. This program is definitely moving in the right direction.

We'll have to see how the new arms work this year but they've consistently raised the floor with each transfer/HS recruit and it's really weird to suggest they haven't done the same this year. Even as the B1G has gotten better. This guy was talking like MSU has turned into Iowa or something

This program is steadily and clearly improving. These hack wannabes find it easy to throw shade. I would imagine they couldn’t even keep a head coaching job much les improve a Big 10 team.
