I have a new 4th-5th favorite team, beyond Wisconsin, Hawai'i, NIU, for whom I have a soft spot, and I wish the best for Demps and Jardine! I get it, and I wish them the best! Thanks Jade for 4 rings!

i hope Demps and company send Wisconsin packin in the tournament. bye haters. Ummm, haters? Demps in the 2.5-3 back row option was a key to the Wisconsin 2021 national title. She was not a great blocker, but she was a great option off the bench on either pin for the 2021-22 teams, and with her serve too, literally the best they have had since I got into Wisconsin Volleyball in 1999! I get her wanting to transfer to be a very good full time pin hitter, and I wish her the very best at LSU, but she had no "haters" among the regular Wisconsin posters on this board! In our minds, Demps may have not been a full time starter, but also Demps on the roster = rings! My point being, if there are any haters, Demps has a lot of lovers among hard core Wisconsin fans, who will now root for LSU the next 2 years! I will! Except against Hawai'i, due to my rooting interests, and Wisconsin. Go Demps and LSU! I wish the very best for her and them against 338 or so teams in the country the next 2 seasons!

Even if Wisconsin had played a 5-1, Demps still wasn't going to crack the starting lineup. Certainly not at opposite, and almost as certainly not as a back row attack option, a la 2021. If she had come in back row for Robinson, you'd have had one or two rotations where your serve-receive was Demps-Franklin-GG. That could have gotten ugly. Heck, running the 6-2 *increased* the number of spots available in the front row. I hope Jade does great in the SEC. But it wasn't simply "6-2" that kept her mostly off the floor. Y’all really are trying to downplay demps now because she’s going to LSU. Like I said it wasn’t her fault she didn’t crack that lineup. We love Demps almost uniformly, but we’ve been talking about these same things for three whole years. Demps is a very good front row hitter, a truly excellent back row hitter, a surprisingly good BR defender and server. She is by all accounts an excellent teammate. But she isn’t a great blocker for some reason, or a reliable passer. In the 6-2 that meant she played an important but part time role as a sub on either pin. In the 5-1 she was stuck in the back row, and even that role might not work after the loss of Barnes and Civita. We don’t win a natty and maybe not the 2022 B1G championship without her, but she really deserves to start somewhere. The badgers’ current roster composition, which turns out hitter heavy but passer light, just doesn’t give her a clear path to the starting lineup. She could have stayed and worked on the things she is weakest at, but others are established and there would be a real risk that she would still be an understudy. I understand her decision though I wish she were still a badger. I can’t think of anyone on the badger thread who wanted her to leave Madison.

She will help LSU. But it might be a shock for her only seeing 800 fans in the stands rather than 8,000.

I understand her decision though I wish she were still a badger. I can’t think of anyone on the badger thread who wanted her to leave Madison. 100% the vast majority of badger fans wanted Demps to stay. she was an amazing super sub who could fill in at multiple spots and add a spark to the offense. She also seems to be a great person off the court. There just isn’t a starting spot for her on the team and we understand that she wants to go somewhere to play. If you read through the badger roster bios, most players said their goal was to win a title or a second title. Demps said she wanted to be an all American. She cannot reach that goal coming off the bench and I would be overjoyed if she can do it at LSU. All- conference for sure is attainable. Wish her and lsu all the best of luck.

Does anyone know if there’s any chance that Aubrey O’Gorman could also be added to the indoor roster next season? she has transferred out of Michigan State to join the beach squad, but I’m wondering if there’s potential she could be added to indoor as well? she’s a former top 50 recruit in her class and her height and power would be pivotal for the 23’ season if she could play both

LSU picks up another transfer in Erin Carmichael from Jacksonville State. She was a 4 year starting Libero that racked up 1400 digs in her career. If anyone has anymore intel on her, please share.
I’m assuming with this pickup, Gomillion is not interested in joining the Tiger squad and Carmichael is taking the spot to add depth to the DS role.

I think it’ll be interesting to see who ends up getting the libero spot because Larkin was quite brilliant last season. I think they’ll split time at the start

Very nice pick up indeed. This kid is better than people know and has been very well trained for the past four years.
