My initial question to dc was to seek some clarification in terms of who dc was referring to. I didn’t see any so called “self-righteous” comments being made. Lol, literally read his post. The "self-righteous" comments are clearly holiday's "DEMS LIKE TO MURDER BABIES" sad last resort tangents. But hey, congrats again on recognizing holiday's sarcasm. There's always too much back and forth between you two. We, obviously, are interpreting dc’s comments differently. dc saying that others are taking up HOLIDAY’s self righteous blather means, to me, that others have now said something self righteous. I was merely asking who was dc referring to. Not sure where my recognizing HOLIDAY’s sarcasm (or more accurately you NOT being able to recognize it) fits in all this, other than you trying to get a jab in. 🤷🏾♂️ Lastly are you saying that moody and I can never have an exchange of ideas of a disagreement on a topic and let that play out in a thread? |

I don't necessarily see the current definition of 'viable' as the black line. I think a good case could be made for beating heart as The line. A fetus which can't live outside the womb isn't a person and isn't really alive. I haven't seen anyone in this conversation (or others) claim a viable fetus isn't alive or isn't a person. Perhaps you can point me to where someone said that. That would be oldnewbie - the one I have been going back and forth with on this for the last several days. oldnewbie believes that Jewish Law is the definitive statement on when life begins - which is only after birth (first breath). That would exclude the viable fetus as either a person, human, or any form of 'life'. (page 10 for reference). |

You’re the one who’s made a big deal about it. You misread something HOLIDAY said and then went into defense mode about it. I misread dc’s comment but you don’t see me making excuses for it. Depends on how one defines 'rights' - legal rights, there doesn't appear to be rights granted to an unborn child. But I am taking a broader definition of 'rights' - as in Natural Rights or Human Rights. One would say that a slave living in the 1800's had no legal rights. That doesn't mean they didn't deserve full 'rights' - or have basic Natural or Human rights. This is what I am referring to here. You’re referring to “rights” because it strikes an emotional chord. Similar to why you keep using the phrase “unborn child,” which is a very stupid phrase. It should cause you pause that you keep insisting on the “rights” of entities that have never been born (fetuses, states). At the very least, there’s a huge assumption you’ve never explained that something “unborn” has natural rights, which btw, according to Locke, the father of the natural rights as treated in the Declaration of Independence, you are “born” with natural rights. Repeated chirping “unborn” kind of hurts you here, actually. Our understanding of life, the fetus in the womb, prenatal care etc... has greatly improved since the 1600's. I love John Locke - that doesn't mean I would consider him the expert on when human life begins with today's understanding and the science that has occurred since the 1600's. |

a viable fetus is a viable fetus a human being/person is one who has been born. That's how it's defined. We’ll ignore your lack of an actual definition for a viable fetus, and focus on the fact you disagree with what merv and BP agreed on. What BP then said regarding those who disagreed with merv’s first sentence holds true. merv Is a viable fetus a human being? Is it a person? I think so. Is it alive? Also, yes. People actively fighting tooth and nail to bring death to growing babies. If that isn’t the signal of the last days then I don’t know what is?
